The Ward of Mithrim

Mayhaps you have heard the Warriors of the First Age, whose first exploits in Calradia took place during the 4th Age, a time of great empires, shifting alliances and conquering tyrants that ultimately descended into chaos as a maddness gripped the realm and brought about the destruction of all nations. Now that all the great realms have been broken the survivors of these stalwart warriors and their people seek to create a new realm, a realm that honors the past while securing a future for their descendents. With the Warriors, the valiant Order of the White Stallion marched into battle in the closing days of the 4th Age,

Why the name of Mithrim? Mithrim was the name of the realm that was once called home by the House of Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor and a bulwark against the dark power of Morgoth. That was long ago, and all those lands are now swept under the waves following the War of Wrath. As such, the name Mithrim was chosen to be revived and honor its noble memory. But enough of ancient history, what does the Ward of Mithrim mean to the average Calraidian?

The Ward of Mithrim is based on the following four main principles.
Honor
Courage
Loyalty
Comradery

Individual Membership:
This means that if the Ward of Mithrim is your friend, you can count on stalwart allies. If they are your enemy, you can count on a formidable and indomitable foe. If you seek membership with the Ward of Mithrim, you can expect to be treated with respect and welcomed in the Hall of Champions (aka, our TeamSpeak). We value teamwork on the battlefield and overall honorable and sportsmanlike conduct in respect to gameplay and attitude.

Free Holds:

If you are are small clan looking for a safe place to start, perhaps there will be room for you in the Ward of Mithrim, as a "Free Hold" that is an autonomous ally within a pact of mutual aid and protection. A Free Hold is left to rule itself, but if war threatens all of Mithrim, then it is important that all Holds reply with sufficient strength to honor bonds of friendship and loyalty.

Finally, the Ward of Mithrim will be for you if you enjoy role playing and in general high fantasy. The Ward of Mithrim is heavily inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, in particularly the Silmarillion.

Further notes on clan organization:

The clans current leadership consists of:
Lord Finnian Tiercel
Sir Thalion, High Counselor of    the Realm (also Commander of the Sentinels of Mithrim)

The Ward of Mithrim's military is organized into the following classes:

Guardian: Our polearm warriors and fearsome twohand heroes, they form an unassailable or aggressive force to defend the realm.
Sentinel: Our rangers who keep watch on the borders of the realm and serve as archers or skirmishers in the army in times of open war.
Wardens: The shielders who form a solid wall to protect the ranks behind them.
Yeoman: A free landholder, serf to no man but will join the ranks of the militia in times of war.

Strategus Involvement: We are actively involved in Strategus and will be working with loyal allies to establish our realm.  Be warned!  Actions against us will be long remembered and debauchery vindicated!  Likewise friendship will not be forgotten and honour exalted!

Nice.  And welcome.

I support this clan as a fan of all things Tolkien (before the movies - I'm talking I read LOTR for the first time in like 1992 (yes, I am older than many in this community lol) and have read them many times since, and his other works including the Silmarillion, etc.

Perhaps I could make an alt? :)  I would love to create an Edain of Numenor.

Your relationship with Finnian Tiercel as increased to 43.
Good to find another star amidst the darkness!  Feel free to make an alt, we'd be glad to have you fight beside us.

yeah, because an archer wearing a weaboo armour, and a bride`s hat, playing under the byzantine theme, is a better roleplay

We are currently involved in Stategus and trying to establish ourselves...

...

We do not want drama.

I'm afraid I have some bad news...

I get what you're saying. As for the drama, of course strat has more than its own fair share of drama, but it's one thing to have drama between factions its another to have a high level of drama within your own faction.  Appreciate the support though.

As a leader of one of the most popular, noteworthy, and generally best clans in all of cRPG, I'd be glad to also help out, Fin.

Awesome to see the support in here! Who doesn't love LotR anyway?!

For any "Metal Heads" out there, here is a link to a song done by Blind Guardian that in a fashion recounts Fingolfin's ride and duel with Morgoth.
If you don't like metal, don't watch it, and certainly don't down vote me or the song just because its not your cup of tea please.  If you do like the song and the genre, be sure to check out Blind Guardian's "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" album on YouTube which is composed of music and songs inspired by the writings of Tolkien, particularly those involving the valour and sorrow of the Elves in the First Age.

Indeed, Boromir was the mightiest captain of Gondor, if not the wisest (reserved for Faramir).

The Numenoreans had their rise and fall during the Second Age, however, they are in fact of the Edain.  The only thing that differs between them and the men who fought along side the elven armies of the first age is that the Numenoreans theoretically had more advanced weapons, armour, and a civilization as a whole.  In other words, while I won't be making a specific Numenorean class so to speak, those who wish to play as such will find that the majority of speculative "Numenorean" equipment can be found under the Edain category (if it isn't and someone is interested in joining to do the above, they may ask me to make an exception).

Yea agreed he was
Ah k didn't know that the numenoreans and edain are related to each other (not in this way)
I thought that the edain were almost fully eliminated after the fall of morgoth

Currently a Gimlee kind of fellow running with a 2h axe slicing some skulls open, but close to retirement and leaning towards a Legolas kind of role.

This looks really cool, I still have yet to read The Silmarillion, I did read a Bestiary which did have many references to The Silmarillion.  I love Tolkien's work as well.  :D
The good part is that it's an NA clan, so I would be able to make any battles.  I have some deciding to do, but this clan looks awesome!  I'd be willing to make a new character because my main one uses a crossbow.

I'm interested.

Do you guys allow alts to join your ranks? I'm an EU player but i would love to have a alt in your clan, i won't mind playing on US servers and i'm a big Lotr fan (Both books and film)

(Fun thing: My name (woodland) came from the " the woodland realm", it's a phrase used by legolas but i'm not sure if that also aplies to the time of the first age as i only remember it from the latter times )

Edit: I did some research and found of the the woodland realm only existed from the second age, to bad.

I think something could be arranged.  You can add me on steam.  lethwin_far_seeker
Legolas would be referring to Greenwood\Mirkwood which does not fall under any light (no pun intended) until the Third Age, however Legolas did play a small role in the Fall of Gondolin during the First Age.

The Woodland Realm was a kingdom of Silvan Elves in the Forest of the Wilderland beginning in the Second Age.

" During the latter half of the Years of the Trees and the First Age, the Nandorin and Avarin Elves populated the forest between the Misty Mountains and the Far East lands, mixing themselves together becoming Silvan Elves or Wood-elves. It is not known how they lived but it is possible they lived in small tribal groups wandering the forest. "

Yeah that is basically Greenwood.  As I said it really doesn't become of much import until the Third Age with the exception that King Oropher (Thranduil's Father) went forth with a contingent of elves to join the the battles of the Last Alliance and Sauron in which he was slain.

You can't really kill Morgoth, otherwise Fingolfin would have about seven times over.  Aside from this I just wanted to reply so between our posts the WFA forum banner would be all cool and zig zaggy.

Then the Necrons would then do the same thing to Morgoth that they did to the c'tan... chop him up into millions of pieces and use his essence to destroy their enemies.

Morgoth created things like necrons (and potentially worse things) to destroy his enemies on a daily basis.  One day Morgoth wanted a pet.  So he got some savage wolf pup and each day cut of his own hand to feed to the pup.  This was the pup's only nourishment was Morgoth's severed hand (which regrew daily).  This is how Morgoth makes a lap dog.

I'm not saying Morgoth wasn't bad ass, the C'Tan were bad ass too, but the Necrons don't give a damn... They put their intelligence into metal immortal bodies and sold their souls for power and victory over their enemies, an entire species no less. They fed their souls to the C'tan and made the C'tan even more powerful then they already were, then when they didn't need the C'tan/ decided they didn't like what the C'tan stood for they defeated them, and ripped them into pieces which they harnessed to make more powerful weapons of war... The best analogy I can think of for an Individual (and might I add worthless/ lowly) Necron are the pirates from the first Pirates of the Caribbean, the ones THAT DO NOT DIE NO MATTER WHAT THE HELL YOU DO. Rip a Necron to pieces and the pieces find each other and knit back together. If you manage to destroy it so utterly that it cant do that then it just disappears into thin air and gets repaired in a Necron tomb or transport.

Seen better stuff from Command and Conquer!  Those were some cute tanks though, would be a shame if a balrog used one to scratch his back!

Didn't even see this debate unfolding or what have you
Literally impossible. No one in any universe could be as terrible as Matt Ward to create things like or worse than the necrons...

Except maybe the guy who came up with nids...but his name was Sam I think

Thank you! Fingolfin is kinda like the mythological patriarch of our clan.

Thalion, I think you might be the last active member who hasn't updated his clan tags.

With Astralis' recent actions, I do believe they are declaring a war on us! Well, I would IF I could find an Astralis Diplomacy thread.

Another battle tomorrow at high noon!... well, 1pm for me.

Seems to me they're at war with the Black Company... who you guys seem to have come to an arrangement with?

Have we? That does explain why so many of them showed up for our battle today, 'cause I thought we were neutral at best with them. Why do I never hear these things until after the fact? Finnian, keep Derplomacy updated will ya?  :P

But somehow, outsiders seem to know more than I do.  I didn't even know Astralis was at war with Black Company. I couldn't even find a thread by Astralis in Diplomacy and their Faction Hall made no mention. I did read somewhere they are in cahoots with a large EU alliance, which would explain why half their team was EU.
