Title: 2H cav build help

I'm currently Gen 9 with a +3 War Horse, +3 Longsword, +3 body & hand armor, so I'm ready to stop retiring and start leveling.

I have two level 33 builds that I want to choose from, but I can't decide which I want to go with. Either a 27/15, or 24/18. I've spent a lot of time on a character planner

, so I know the pros & cons from each build... (Both builds will have the same WPF)

With the 27/15 build, I'll have 9 PS - 72 HP - 5 Athletics - 5 Riding
With the 24/18 build, I'll have 8 PS - 67 HP - 6 Athletics - 6 Riding

The main reason I'm making this thread is because someone told me that 6 Riding would be important to have. I also like to be kinda quick on my feet on maps where I can't use a horse, but this is only necessary if the 1 extra Riding point is important enough. So, is it worth it to drop the 1 PS and 5 HP?

I've had my mind set at 27/15 for a while now, but I'd like to see some outside input before I stick with this. What's your opinion?

If you think you might want to use a courser or desert horse at some point in the future, go for 6 riding. If you think 5 would be enough for you forever, go for 9 PS.
Not much difference overall, really.
PS: although 9 PS seems to be too much overkill for 2h cav, so I'd prefer 24-18.

24-18, 6 ath is a must for 2h according to me, but I am - or at least I used to be - agi whore :P

i am 24 15 at lvl 34 ( no way i fucked up somewhere )  every skill is maxed out i would say that 8 ps and 5 riding is pretty much enough, but what do i know?

My build.. also if you need a badass 2h cav weapon let me know.. i have spare +3 Bardiche that thing is a beast just ask the  Latvian dude above me  :lol:

P.S. The longsword is a pussy 2h cav weapon... real men use Bardiche or shortned mili scythe  :!:

High strength is definitely better for 2h cav.  I'm currently rolling an agi based build and I suffer for it.

same here, 0 wm suck balls

mornigstar and greate axe(1 hit story 90% of time) are awesome 2h cav weapons too, longsword only for cav duels but 2h cav suck at that

latvian I  suggest you some more shield skill on higer lvl

i thought about more power draw (maybe throwing) but shield is also nice :D

Lol'd twice while reading the replies. First because of Latvian's 1 power draw = pure style. And then again when I saw Rebelyell's Japan's Anime Goods commercial.

Oh, and I'd pick the 24/18 build. 1 more riding and 1 more ath will give you more survivability + easier to handle the longswords shortness against greatswords.

Don't forget to wear a well protecting helmet. Projectiles to the head are one of the biggest problems as a cavalry player without a shield.

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated. :)

Once I reached 5 Athletics today and played with that for a bit, I realized that it was quick enough for me. And from what I've read, that extra 1 Riding point doesn't seem to be of that much importance. So I'm going to stick with 27/15. 9 PS definitely won't be overkill for the longsword, but I could see it being too much with the bardiche/morningstar maybe. I think 9 should be just right to ensure 1-hit kills on medium-armored targets.

Currently at level 28 now with 7 PS (22/15), having some alright games:

Now I must learn to stop plowing over teammates, this War Horse is a TANK compared to the destrier I had for a long time :lol:

When you play as 2h cav all players are a valid target. Do not worry about the opinion of the scrublords who have not yet recognised the master race.

Hello!
I think 24/18 should be good for you because with a +3 weapon, the speed bonus of your pony and 8 PS means 1hit to most of your targets
Also you have 6 athletics so useful as infantry too, if you are bored of riding sometimes you can go and hunt some archers as infantry aswell
