Heavier gauntlets increase the damage of your punches. They are still weak, but heavy gauntlets will do more damage than a punch with leather gloves. Should kicks increase damage if you have heavier foot armor? It makes sense that an iron greave would hurt your shins more than a leather boot...
I don't see a lot of people (even those in plate body armor) use some of the high tier leg armor. It's largely neglected by all classes. If this change was made, maybe it would lead to more diversity in choice of leg armors. With nudges and more combat maneuvers on the way, I think this is an idea worth exploring.
Thoughts?

Please no, not another reason for people to wear more armour! The pikemen will hate you!
-
Makes sense since it is the case with gloves.

I think pointier/more rigid leg armors would do more damage than ones of about equal weight, though it might also make more sense if heavier leg armors led to longer kick animations/staggering time.

I had extra kick damage from foot wear in the first version of the gauntlet damage stuff but it was vetoed down. Would buff kicking too much. Decision still stands.
-
But with heavier leg armor you should kick slowly, nice idea though.

Great Idea, too bad =/ would be another interesting mechanic to play with!

How about this?
Remove kicks? No, alright then. Don't try to buff kicks through points of "realism" or "logic." If you cared about either one of those two then you'd want the kick removed too.

Just like you should punch slower with heavier gloves, which is not the case.

Leg armor is more of a Polearm/Cav thing to do. I do agree though that high tier footwear is avoided fairly often.
Although, my next gen is pole arms so I will be able to reach their toes and tickle them a bit ;)

But with heavier leg armor it's harder to kick and maybe not as much force??????? I dunnoz...
