Title: How long do you spend on your clan in warband? (Free time)
Post by: RandomDude on July 24, 2013, 07:36:21 pm
How long do you spend on your clan and is it effective/working for you? Is your clan successful?

I want to start playing c-rpg full time again when I get paid (end of the month) and Im thinking about re-starting ANT. I wont have more than a few hours in the week and 1/2 day sat/ most of sunday for free time though.

Not much currently. I mostly play alone.

When I was active in my clan, it was usually about 90% of my free time (the time I spent in front of the pc is meant). Never more than some hours a day..

the only real time you need to spend is in setting it up, getting a ts and some recruits and then just sit in TS with people and chill :P IF you plan on getting heavily into strat then your going to sacrifice a lot of time :P

Yeah I can't see me being directly involved in strat like I used to be - i just dont have the time - but there's no reason another clan member can't be doing that.

Or you can just get a good eager sidekick that will do the groundwork for you and one day betray you and form a clan of his own that you will hate but it will be a bigger better version of your own.

It depends on your clan, but if you're trying to singlehandedly re-invigorate an old clan or start a new one, I'm guessing a minimum of two hours a day.

If you've got a solid core group, just playing when everyone's online on the weekends, etc, should work.

Yeah Im worried that if I revive ANT, I wont be around enough to keep players interested.

On average (Playing aside) probably only a couple of hours a week, mainly just talking to some of the members, accepting recruits and changing stuff on the thread.

I think it mainly depends on how much structure you want to have in your clan. If you want to have just a bunch of guys who are all treated as equals playing just for fun, providing they are mature enough they will most likely just look after themselves. I think if you want to have different ranks, play strat, host events etc. its gonna take up a lot more time.

My clan has 22 members (3 leaders) (6-8 inactive ones) with no real hierachy and recruitment is basically that anyone can join as long as they aren't a complete cunt.  the clan leaders sometimes are inactive for a week or so and there is no problems. None of the members have really had any problems with eachother and if they did I would probably just tell them to sort it out between themselves anyway.

Been in Mercs over 2 years, back when I was leader I invested a lot of time into recruitment and training players.

Nowadays I play a few hours every now and then, as well as grinding troops on strat, dont have enough free time to invest for anything more.
