Title: Autoupdated Map
Post by: Tuonela on July 22, 2013, 07:07:26 pm
http://stratmapupdate.apphb.com/

Clicking any faction will show its name on the right. It might take some minutes for it to update when a fief change happens. A great tool for watching a faction loose its fiefs at a high speed.

Very nice, did notice one discrepancy however, but won't point it out (NA faction on EU side is not showing up).

Any chance of getting this for NA also?

Yeah, if you could add history and make it animated... (or a time scroll or something) this would be really good.

As it stands it's a bit pointless. (sorry to sh*t on your work  :( ) Have you seen the strat improved interface developed by chy (http://forum.meleegaming.com/strategus-general-discussion/strategus-tool-belt-v1-0-5-3-(improved-interface)/)? It has a diplomatic filter and a faction filter so you can see this info directly on the map where you can interact with it.

Also the writing on the right hand side doesn't fit on the page so you have to scroll across, some pop up text which disapears after say 2 sec would be better.

Well done for creating something and sharing it with us all.. but as it stands I see no use in it. I hope to see you develop this further into something great!!

EDIT - What would be good (at least in my opinion) would be if this interacted with the battle roster.. When a fief is under attack it could show some sort of symbol so you could see which areas of land are being contested.

I added the NA map now, though it looks a bit weird since certain two fief clans look massive because of the empty space.

The information is taken directly from this: http://strategus.c-rpg.net/static.js.php and I don't think there is one for current or previous battles. And I can't figure any easy way too create those pop up texts, though I made the factions names to be shown both above and below.

Also I made this just because I had already though for some time, could something like this be done. Chy's script is done as a client side script on predefined areas afaik. This is generated dynamically through bitmap editing (The result might not differ much though).

In the end, the goal was to learn, though result looked ok enough to be released.
