Kenshi is an open-ended strategy/rpg game that's currently in alpha state. I haven't quite figured out what the setting is supposed to be yet, but I guess you could call it japanese steam-punk. Anyway, the project is highly ambitious and the final feature list is almost too good to believe. If everything gets implemented as promised, Kenshi will feature one of the most complex and dynamic worlds ever simulated. I have played the game for like 60+ hours and it doesn't even have sound effects yet. The only downside is that most of the development is basically done by one guy and progression is rather slow.
You can get it on steam, if you are interested.

If that thread had been where it belongs, I would have found it and not made a new topic...

He has a point.

Thread was made before "... and all the other things floating around there" was available. Obviously mods didn't go through all the existing threads to move them to the new subforum.

Regardless, its a fun game. Definitely not finished but its getting there, slowly but surely.

Just noticed, Steam is downloading 600mb of Kenshi files. It's the first audio update. :D

I just saw this.. YAY!
Will be trying that out soon.
Plus it finally has the female characters as well. Or should anyway. Now the other updates will come along and shit will start getting even more awesome.

I spend the last 3 days on it and must say I like it. Only downsides are:
Everything takes forever. And there are nearly no enemies.
Together this leads to walking around to look for bandits can take hours without anything happening.
One other bad thing is the loadingtime. I ventured out with some troops and left some in the outpost. when you switch from one team to the other loadingtimes are too long to enjoy a fluid gameplay.
But I have high hopes that these flaws are going to get eliminated somewhen.

Nice, I'll have to download it again. Last time I played bandits seem to be short in supply, I literally had to travel across the map to find any, which were on the edge of the map around mountains. Either way the game is great so far and worth the money it's at already I think. The rest is just bonus for those who jumped on.

Aw yeah. I don't run into a bandit scarcity problem at all. I actually have a bandit valley that I train my guys in sometimes that has multiple groups come through very quickly. Like I'll fight one group of hungry bandits and another one will pop in to help then some dust bandits want to rekt everyone then a samurai group comes in to kick everyone's ass. I once followed the samarai group to get ok xp while being pretty protected and had to fight 5 or 6 hungry bandit groups of 14 each. Was a massacre. They just kept coming.

The animals are awesome tho got beaten up by wolves since my trader sold his sword to buy that extra piece of chainmail to resell at a profit. Was a terrible mistake

Can't wait for the faction wars type stuff, especially when we get to side with a faction, will be lots of fun.

Taser used Phoenix Down on thread!
Come a long way since 2014 but no diplomacy just yet. However more of the map has been opened up along with better setup of the navmesh apparently to help with loading. Skeletons got nerfed with wear and tear upon multiple repairs so they have to rest at a skeleton repair bed eventually. Not a big nerf but it was needed. Skeletons are OP as fuck even with the reduced armor they eventually have over the others.
