It was about time

It took us quite a while to train the peasants in the art of neckbeardery. They were originally only trained in clubs and pitchforks with rags over their shoulders. Now they know how to properly use the weapons of the lords, steel picks, heavy round shields, and heavy armor with neckbeard engraved on it.

You can blame the dev team who did this as a personal attack. We ranked 10th place last strat, how did they reward us? Not giving us an NA Fisdnar! Down with the dirty neckbeard dev team! I imagine EU Fisdnar as chadz' hometown, and I come to plunder it.

7-8AM for EU players, 1-2AM for NA players.

I dont think I need to say any more.

All things considered it's not too bad.

It's Saturday afternoon for Frank so a perfect time for Australians and only 10:48pm Friday for west coast NA players so we should all be back from our Pokeman tournaments.  Then it's 1:48am for east coast NA players so they'll just be getting back from bars and ready to play cRPG as it's meant to be played.

Also I'd assume most EU players are up at 6am lifting weights anyway so 7-8am on a Saturday won't be too bad for them.

Yeah Im sure you were thinking only of the australian playerbase when you attacked at this time. It has nothing to do with preventing the defenders from actually being at the battle.

I dont think I need to say any more.

12:48am CST (center of NA) is not very late for the weekend.  About an hour or two past prime time for NA if it's a weeknight, but it's the weekend.

Looks like you'll have to put on your big boy pants and deal with it.  You get to fight with EU ping, but will have to fight during NA peak hours.

Well considering your enemies are predominantly going to be Eastern Europeans, this is a good time(relative) for them of like 9:50 AM(Assuming i got my time zones down right).

Btw, you are by far the most enjoyable faction to fight against, love the roleplay!
If it wasn't for the timing eu/na, fisdnar would be my favorite battlefield this war.

But fighting very early morning on eu... during summer-vacation and weekend.... Not that enjoyable for most EU's.

Yeah Im sure you were thinking only of the australian playerbase when you attacked at this time. It has nothing to do with preventing the defenders from actually being at the battle.

Well Frank is the one who attacked, and he is Australian and because of the time zones he has not had much of a chance to participate in these battles.  For me in NA I find the 0200 time more obnoxious than the 0700 time for the EU.  No need to be insinuating or sarcastic.
Title: Re: Meanwhile on the doorstep of Fisdnar...
Post by: FRANK_THE_TANK on July 27, 2013, 01:26:49 am
I was actually trying to make the battle happen at a time when more people could potentially be awake.

I wasn't trying to screw anyone.

I can't even fight in the battle because a) my ping will be retarded so meh and b) my computer is jacked.

We have players from East to West Coast NA. What I should have done is launched the attack at 04:30 my time... oh wait, that's fucking retarded as well!!!!!!!!!

There is no perfect solution but personally I just wish you could set an auto countdown for when your army is going to attack so I could have launched it at around 7/8am so the times would have been better.

Anyway it is what it is but it honestly wasn't an attempt to dick anyone. The next attack will be at a better time hopefully.

Sorry to anyone that got the shits with this time.

PS it's like 9am in Russia, but I suppose, vodka :/

Why does one quote of you say for free, and the other for cheap?

Because it's never been for free.

"I like the peasants of fisdnar theme, but wouldn't it be easier if i just sold you fisdnar?
I know ujuki turned it into a complete warzone with his army, but i think we can let him pull back the troops if we get some guys in the village  :P"

Either way Haboe, i'm glad you're interested in this. For I want you to know. I think you and your clan are the largest band of no good fucking scallywag pieces of shit strewn about the land that I have ever encountered. I hope you find more evidence of the Free Peasants neglecting your clan in the diplomatic arena, I really do. Oh and fuck you.

Oh we're so upset we have to lose the armies we made to lose in taking Fisdnar.  So upset. We were hoping we would spend all this time preparing for this shit, and not even have to do it. God damnit Haboe, now we have to do it!

bwahahaha that turned rather ugly!

I got locked out of my house, only just got in now hence why I wasn't on team speak and what not :/

Sounds like it would have been another agonising charge into Fisdnar.

Fisdnar is honestly a better place to defend than the vast bulk of the cities and castles, tis crazy dumb!

But it's our fault, we choose it. Could have been the peasants of Uslum but they are filthy people which is why they have been the front line. Now that they are dead I can say what I like about them!

In other news!

JokeeQ_The_Grey just earned himself 50k and Egor got himself 25k!!!

Messages are being sent now!

----

Also I got message telling me that 700 troops survived yet I only have 8 troops... wtf!

----

One last thing, the only thing I begrudge the Mercs is the massive stack of troops in Fisdnar. I know how it happened but it sucks royal balls because we have to loose so many tickets just to attack!

It would be most gracious if you would pull the ticket count down to 2k and just leave some guys in there to top it up. Although I understand that we may be well past gallantry by this stage. My dear Arys has used his fine statesmen like abilities, which is why I love him so and have been with for all this time!

What he really says: "Buy it. We aren't giving it away NA scum."
When caught: "Oh I was going to do it for cheap, but you're drunk and I like FPoF things"

Also, like the abuse of troop stacking in Merc fiefs. Good job playing strat like mercs always have.

BTW, I declare war on mercs. Yup, I'm done watching your shit. I'm going to help the FPoF take back their village. I recommend all NA clans join in! Help them against shitty EU players who do nothing but take advantage of whatever they can.

Bullshit, i tried to sell the village once it lost its value for us due to the wolves war. It used to be of strategic use, since dhirim is a dangerous area, and with fisdnar we had a good distance bonus within our northern fiefs. On different times in the war the prices variate, fisdnar peasants refused to answer and even negotiate about it. They are all cool and RP about it, but arys gives BS about anything. First BS on how we have to many troops in there (butthurt?) then about me trying to sell it, i basically get "fck off we didn't prepare all this time to buy the fief, we wanna fight for it". Make up your mind arys!
It's only normal troops are in the fief, when the fpof attacked, ujuki got out of his fief with 120 or so troops, then you attacked him and booted him away. How did you imagine lowering the garrison size that way?

As said before, complete fisdnars army is the work of 1 man, that we gave a village  to protect for trade purposes, and he did an amazing job defending it. I know invading EU with horrible ping and with that a weak roster is frustrating, but don't blaim the apostates for that, you knew what you would get when you planned the attack.

I tried to be nice to the fpof and they all but 1 made this into a great roleplay war over their home town. Arys just rages rather quick.

Read Knutes quote listed above. Anytime someone stacks more than 4500 troops in a fief they deserve to be drawn and quartered. It's a problem and it's right to be yelled at for doing it. Acre(NA faction) did this, but they (I guess) worked out a deal to allow attacks on castle rather than the do anything to win mentality I see in EU(more often).

BTW I'm not a FPoF memeber. Arys is a TS admin in our TS, but I rarely play(haven't much the past week due to procrastinating on a school project) I won't comment here. I do talk, but I am not privy to their affairs.

Heh, agreed on this. He's had his admin revoked in TS before he goes into his huge drinking binges. Otherwise...bad things happen

There has been too much violence. Too much pain in this thread. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give us your troops, the S&D, the gold, and the whole village, and we'll think about sparing your lives. Just walk away and play the games you bought on the Steam sale. Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror.

To be fair you need to keep troops in a fief or bleed enormous amounts of gold in upkeep -a cre had only one castle so where else do you expect them to keep it when they are not marching them in armies, just like you keep majority of your troops in your castle anders.  The apostates had tried to get the fief owner to bring the troops over to where they were needed, from what i understand he was recalcirant to give up the troops he had been steadily adding for months.

Also, im just glad last night's battle was decent despite the horrible time slot it was 34 v 34 most of the match, much better than having something stupid like 40 v 25 because of a horrible attack time - not how the game is supposed to be played/won.

True, upkeep IS cheaper, but I mentioned, specifically, the abuse(or however you wish to define it) of the 1/3 rule.  Wish more factions would do what Acre's done. Make the battles not waste troops because of timer.

You know they should add a drama lama to the horses give it 10 speed and 10 manurer.

But lets all be nice kiddies, come now, tis best for the funnening!

Troop BS:

Personally I don't hold it against the Mercs. I think it's a broken system that is mostly being used as intended. What chadz and Co. should have done is set the 1/3 rule in play but once you cross the the 1300 troop threshold it goes out the window and you can attack anything. That would have made more sense.

I lost track of who i talked to, but thats exactly what we wanted to do ;)
But ofc if our members get attacked when they wanna go there, or leave fisdnar, there is not much moving of troops done

Btw, fisdnar is currently one of the lowest garrisoned fiefs we have, we simply don't hold the fiefs to spread them out over ^^
As for us not taking them out, i don't mind if that goes for the enjoyment of more battles vs a clan like fpof. However, you insist on attacking at very early/ very late time for me and any of my members. The NA/EU border is there for a purpose.

We'll try and launch our next assault at a better time, obviously the last one didn't work out for anyone. As for the Fisdnar garrison, when we attacked it had enough troops to be tied at 4th/5th largest at the time. Even after two assaults it's still more heavily defended than quite a few of your northern fiefs.

If you really want to abandon the fief then take all the gold and troops out that you can and have uJuKi walk out the door. I'm sure it's more than a little annoying to be facing such a large EU threat and then have some drunken NA peasants come and start dying all over your village, I can only assume the mountain of bodies is what's stopped you from marching out at this point. If you leave today you can go take them somewhere important like Wercheg or one of those other fiefs we don't have in NA.

Just give it up and it could all be over.

Uh hm.

In the great castle of New Reindi, a cool wind was blowing. Summers long heat was just ending for the day. A lone, barely clothed peasant had finally reached the castle. After months of trekking through the treacherous snow lands, across the grand Crusader Mountains, he reached his goal. Having finally reached his destination, he collapsed from the stress of the journey near the Great Melons Inn. The patrons of this Inn, feeling sorry for the poor man, brought him out of the castles traffic. With his life saved by the generous benefactors, he told his story of a great army of Apostates, who forsook the great Donkey's teachings have captured and burned the ancestral home of the Free Peasants. He told stories of the pissing on the straw beds, the eating of the cabbages, and the most heinous the donkey "tickling."

This story gravely upset the patrons the the Great Melons Inn, so much that not even the the melons started to deflate. The story of this heinous act brought many brave men in front of the Great Mercenary Lord. They asked for him to muster the army to help save these poor peasants and the lords most precious creation: the donkey. The Lord, being weary of the blood lusts common amongst Dharans, called upon the brave men of the Free Dharan Lands to join his banner for a Blood Fued. With the story being spread far and wide, 1200 Dharans answered the call. The Mercenary Lord pulled forth the peasant from between the Great Melons Patrons, and Thus said to him: "I have Asked the men of this realm, and they have outpoured wholly and fully. Thus, I give you the Army of these great people. May you Reclaim your home and prevent the donkey Tickling. May the Donkey be praised!"

Yes, the time jumped forward 3.5 hours. I'm not sure why but it was probably to make room for the DRZ v Knights Who Say Ni battle, although you'd think 75 minutes could have been enough time. So now that the time is shit it's not even our fault anymore, I wish it hadn't changed all of the sudden.

When will the troubled spirit of Fisdnar be laid to rest? When will the dirty smocks of peasants once again patter over her, instead of the metal boots of try-hards? When Lord, when!

Since it is on the EU server, it does seem more fitting for it to be at EU primetime. I don't think most NA players enjoy the high ping, I know i'm absolutely terrible with the ping, which is why I have opened my playing seat for some one who will enjoy the fighting.

Seems like there will be 2 more battles until the glorious peasants reclaim their fabled hometown from the mighty neckbeards

We're hoping three, so you guys have a few hundred left and we'll attack in proper peasant gear for the last one.

My favorite part was where the peasant with 14 - 40 called the mercs shit.

Would be nice

You considering peasant vs peasant as last battle?
Normal fight next, raid after that.

Will leave 200 naked population, auto-peasant-gear.
I'm assuming ujuki wont do shit on equipment anyway so should be easy to do xD

Like many people, I followed your quest for this ugly village of yours with great attention.

Congratulations for being fanatically relentless.

Now that we've beat Strategus, I'm going to put the spreadsheets away for now and get to work on the history of the free peasants of Fisdnar.  So...

Coming soon to a thread near you:  A mostly true story of filthy Australian bandits, independent merchants, wizards, revolutionaries, Japanese troop farmers, neckbeards, goons, wolves, mercs and friends.  A story of how with a little luck and a lot of perseverance seven men and one champion sumpter horse won it all in their quest for the good thing.

Here's a little preview:

How dare these ruffians attack us at a time when I can't make the battle! In my place I will leave my personal bodyguard of cabbage spirits to oversee the battle. The Evil Wizard Emperor demands a victory and ritual sacrifices of captured prisoners.

Behold! My wizard magics have made your force disappear into thin air, leaving only their clothing and equipment behind. Let this serve as a warning to all those that would challenge the might of the Evil Wizard Empire, you cannot hope to defeat us.

But thank you to the Regum Novae boys for clearing up this misunderstanding in such a timely and efficient manner.
