Here is an image of the double sided lance during a right-to-left swing:

It has a blade there. That's why its a "double sided lance." Why not make it a more unique weapon and give it cut damage? That's all, thank you for reading.

Why not? This is the realism forum. The weapon is bladed, so it should have cut damage; if you consider that a nerf then it could have the damage increased slightly.

They can always twist the handle to hit with the blunt part of the head so it makes sense as blunt.
Edit: Nvrm just saw the picture, it should clearly be cut.

Most of the part you are hitting with is wood but then again i'm looking at all the polearms now...

That is a spearhead on a pole. A spearhead is structured to do as much pierce damage as it can, but not sure about how much slice damage it would do if swung instead of stabbed with. If it were a blade like a long hafted blade then I would say cut, but to me I tend to agree with the current stats - that the stab should be pierce and the swings should be blunt.
