I may be asking for too much out of a purely melee based pvp game but since the maps are so big I'm thinking a few scattered wild agro bears or boars roaming around just waiting for the unexpected adventurer to pass by would be awesome and would give you that feel of realism in the wild.
Also.. a mini or side quest in a map would be nutty. Maybe like each player that accepts this quest gets paired up to dual with another on the apposing team. It'll put a beacon only that player can see on that apposing player and after defeating him/her you obtain bounty gold.
And how bout a field medic? One that carries a medic box around and it weighs a ton. Any time you heel someone it will look like l4d animation just patching the guy up and can heal up to 50% health. Can only heal 6 players and has low health / light armor and a shitty Dagger.
Please address your thoughts and input for the above ideas.

Little greased pigs running amok all over the place in the server squealing like banshies and bumping people sounds FRIKKIN AWESOME! +1
But no seriously...these ideas don't really make sense in an FPS combat simulation game, as hilarious as it would be for me to fighting someone and have them suddenly mauled by a bear.

No just no :-D

I want the healer

I like the idea of having roaming ai on the map. Having bandits/raiders would be interesting.
-
No, it wouldnt be interesting. AI is stupid and bots are a joke (see DTV). It would just make it a bit laggier for ppl with bad pcs.
Healing isn't needed on siege/battle on casual servers. Simple reason: Rounds have to be quick. If ppl always heal after getting hit once/twice and backup then, they'll fight till flags spawn (or rather till no flags spawn) and game ends up being a draw much more often. In a 4-5 minute round heal isn't really needed.
That's why you also do not have a regen over time.

Maybe a healer, but side quests and NPC characters/animals? Get the fuck out of here...

The 2 main things are siege and battle. During a siege, I dont think a bear would walk along and start attacking people. During an upcoming battle I also dont think that any sane animal would seek to come closer but rather get the fuck away from screaming stinking apes with weapons.

So different gamemodes?
Nah, not gonna happen I fear. They have enough barely finished gamemodes in the works or in the rejectedchamber. Mybe this would have happened in the earlier years, when the devteam was seriuslly into this mod. These days it appears to me that they dont have even any intentions of adding something major to the game anymore. Cause they are working on something else now entirely.
Sorry to burst your bubble mate. None if this will never come to be nomatter how much backers it gets.

If NPC's would give you points for killing them it would just favor cavalry players, as they would reach them first.
So if implemented there should be no reward for killing them imo.
With that said, it might not hurt to add a few random NPC's each round in random places... could be fun :)

In medieval ages boars were 2, or maybe even 3 times bigger than they are nowdays. Sadly, or not, they were hunted and killed. The big ones died hundreds of years ago. Boars, of course, weren't the biggest
animals living in the forest back there. Look in the internet for Bos primigenius. That was a beast! Imagine yourself a bull that's weight was 1000 kg. It lived in the woods in Europe. Good for us, or not, that it extincted.
According to the thread - just no.
#Riddaren - Thanks, I am not a beggar anymore! ;)

It's a shame all those prehistoric beasts are extinct.
I hope we won't let big animals like the gorilla and the blue whale die out.
Congratulations to your first post btw!

There's a mod for warband that does add little pigs, and guys you have to duel.
It's a called Persistent World.
