Ok i was wandering about a new greatsword being made and put into cRPG
So i need a blacksmith in modeling :D
Ok so i had an image of a greatsword made out of Iron instead of Steel so the blade is kind of dark and looks similar to the German Greatsword, just a different hilt.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
So the blade is made of Iron and is same shape as this greatsword above.
Now for the Hilt of the blade i had an image of it being dark Blue like a navy color, it has to have one of the Metal end things like the others and the hand guard on the hilt could sort of be like the Danish Greatsword
Stats for the weapon could be this i think (might of made a few mistakes on the balancing)
Name is to be decided.
Weapon length: 123
Weight: 2
Difficulty: 15
Speed rating: 92
Thrust damage: 28 pierce
Swing damage: 36 cut
Slots: 2
Can't use on horseback
Secondary Mode
ok a few reasons on stats:
Weight: Iron is lighter than steel so weighs less obviously. its not super realistic but just for game balance.
Speed: balanced
Damage: Balanced. (check it compared to other Greatswords its balanced)
Length: it would look stupid if it was any smaller.
Please can someone help Forge this sword it will look awesome with it being Iron like.
if anyone wants to forge it let me know :D thanks.

In a way this is false. Iron and steel weight somewhat same in general(everyone realizes I'm not talking about 1kg of steel and 1kg of iron..), however steel is a lot stronger so don't need to use it as much as iron. So this sword would have to weight more than a steel sword, or then it wouldn't be really strong.
However I like an idea of a new greatswords, I'm tired of seeing all the same. Stats have to be be a little different though.

There's only so much you can change about a long, pointy piece of metal and get something somewhat different.
-
We need a few new two handers, but I don't think a new greatsword is all that important.
-Chinese war sword
-Short and slow 2H sword with a stab (probably Euro)
-war hammer
-dedicated pick

I know all about the difference of Iron and Steel due to having a conversation with Tor while making this thread he told me a few things.
I'm going to quote myself on this and put this below.

How about sacrificing some damage and giving it some Rock N Roll speed to the greatsword? Most of the 2h are still depressed about the fact that the Greatsword were speed nerfed time ago. Let's make an alternative to the slow greatswords, something similar to the native greatsword but with less speed and a bit more reach - similar damage properties.
-
The stats you suggested are really unbalanced and they also make the german greatsword obsolete.
123 length and 92 speed and 28 pierce damage?
What more do you need? This sword would be OP.
And why would you choose a german greatsword over this one?
You think 3 extra cut damage is worth losing 2 speed, 1 pierce damage and adding 0,5 weight?
123 length means a lot. You can't have both speed, length and damage.
This is much more balanced:
90 speed
2,0 weight
123 length
28 pierce
36 cut

Another gsword ive been really wanting is a gsword Flamberge. The one we currently have is well.....the giant version of it. Which is still a very cool sword. But im sorta missing the average greatsword sized one of it. Those average sized blades are acctually called "Flambards" or "Flame swords". "Flamberge" only refers to the giant one we have now. Make it happen please good people.
Interesting fact. Realistically the flamy parts are to acctually stun the opponent while he attacks your block. Not that it should be implemented thou. Sry if I derailed, I just really wanted to suggest it.

Well it'd be completely opposite of the realism and clearly you don't know all the difference between iron and steel.
Riddaren's stats are a lot better for iron sword.

this isn't a thread about what i know about fucking ore. Jesus Christ.
yeahh riddaren, the stats i put are just random figures im no balance freak i just want to roleplay. il let the balance team decide if it gets forged by all means.

Why are great 2h's so slow when pole arms are so fast?.. Shouldn't they be the slowest?

What polearms do you mean? Sometimes when you used a polearm you can make your swing animation hit quite fast with movement and position, same goes for any weapon really =D
