Reducing its speed by 2 and stab damage by 1 was a poor change in my opinion.
First it was buffed, mainly the cut damage on swings and 0 slot.
To be honest I would prefer its old stats over the new ones, it completely changes the weapon sadly. (I mean pre buff stats, no increased cut damage with the original speed and pierce damage on it.)
In it's current state I will be trading it for the short arming sword most likely.
I don't mean this to be an attack on the balancing team for items, but this was a radical change from the weapons original qualities.

The broad short sword was a little OP before the patch, taking 50% of peoples health with the stab , for being a 0 slot sword it shouldnt do that

It was still nerfed too much. You have to remember that it is quite short and that one handed stabs glance quite often/are more risky than other stabs. If you allow your enemy to land two of those stabs, you should indeed lose most of your health. Now there are only very few good one handed cut weapons left. The nerf of most 0 slot weapons and Side Sword was over the top in my opinion. They should have buffed the other cut weapons a little bit instead. Nordic War Sword and Italian Sword are still quite bad for example. Slightly reducing the Speed of Steel Pick was good, though.

Motherfuckers nerfed side sword and 0 slot 1-hers, Longsword and HBS remains untouched. GG balancers.

I had my BSS too before it was mainstream.
Used it because it was fast and had a good stab, now its semi quick with a good chop.
Totally changed the play style of the sword.
