The maximum amount that can be paid to those participating in a strat battle is currently 1,000 silver.
I suggest removing this limit.
This would add a new element to the economic part of strat, allowing wealthier factions to 'buy' more skilled mercenaries. More importantly, it would introduce additional costs which would hopefully force them to outfit their armies with lighter, less expensive gear.
Thoughts?

It was reduced because it was only being used to transfer gold to clanmates to supply them with upkeep for their troops.
