What is the formula to determine throwing now. How is power throw and WPF related?
Also, why the hell do jarrids count for 2 slots? I have to say, your nerf to throwing was quite heavy handed and very overzealous.
-
14 wpf per PT point. But weight penality may strike before this calculation, I don't know
-
Thanks a ton. Can anyone confirm?
-
confirmed, need 14 wpf by PT.
Armor wpf penalty is applied before checking if you have enough.
If you don't meet the requirement, accuracy drop by a lots...
Also I've read that you can't pick up thrown weapon if you dont't meet the requirement, didn't test this part myself yet.

well thats a SECOND character that needs a retirement because chadz' work.
Seriously, its ridiculously inconvenient that you make these often character-breaking patches and don't offer the courtesy of the option to re-designate stats.

I'll miss the days of throwing stones and knives at people from across the map, they were grand days, when people could frolic in their own blood and dance in the rain of arrows that was about to seal their fate. Yeah, those were the days.

Seriousy? You thought a full strength thrower that was ridiculously accurate for a character without agility, was going to last? It was announced ages ago that this particular thing would get nerfed, as well as throwing as a class.

I hardly consider a guy running around with peasant clothes only throwing rocks is OP. Its just a lawls build, but its still damn inconvenient to have to deal with until 31.

If it really was a lawl build, why bother playing with it ?

Just get to 15 and retire to start over, it's not like it takes hours to get to 15 anyways.

Because I want to heirloom my rocks. That way I can peg people with the stones of my father.
@Kafein, Not sure what that Zappa quote has to deal with this situation, but come on now: haven't you ever wanted to humiliate someone with a good rock kill? Its not only rewarding, its a great stress killer =P

Even the super nerf of a patch will not stop me, up until I retired (to get my masterwork stones) I was doing just fine with 2 stacks of balanced stones and a throwing lance. Not as good as before, but doable.
-
The throwing nerf is retardedly overdone. If you disagree, you're also a retard. But, I'm willing to debate about it (you'll lose). Thanx for making the game less dynamic, less balanced, and EVEN MORE about spamming in heavy plate. The fanboi's are thrilled let me tell you. I also I think 2handers should be FASTER , and plate should give you 100 extra hp. Fuck it, let just all play Plate and crossbow!
-
Before the slot system everybody was running around with a crossbow or throwing weapon, now you need to be a dedicated crossbowman or thrower, so it's fine.

Dedicated throwing doesn't seem too practical now. (At least not from what i've seen)

I know a guy called pebble pusher and he is killing many many people with heirloomed stones.
STONES

"dedicated crossbowman" LOolololol looks like somebody has never actually played. Dedicated thrower? I mean I'm going to make one, he'll just be weaker than any other dedicated class (A lot weaker).

LLJK_Greased_Lightning
Athletics, Weapon Master, all wpf into crossbow and barely enough STR to use his firearm. Bolts, crossbow, no sideweapons and no armour.
Dedicated crossbowman.

After playing native a bit recently, I was just remembering how much I like the "rock/paper/scissors" balance of the game. It has been disappointing to see a mod I love further narrow it's spectrum of combat, when it could more dynamic. It is supremely ironic that the same same people crying for "balance" seem to be the ones spamming the shit out of whichever item hasn't been nerfed..... Yet(?). I think this latest patch might just boil down to haphazard balancing. I hope this is the case, and things get better with new patches. Because when I hear people in game talk about wishing crpg were all melee, I know that we share completely different views on what makes this game great, and if they win I'll have to play a different mod, and fuck that.
I agree ranged could be toned down a bit from vanilla, But I feel like the whole system is out of whack now. I play all classes, and I don't mind getting thwacked when I'm a lumbering tank, or getting hacked down cowering as an archer. I LIKE having to choose whether to invest a few points in shield to help me reach my targets in fighting condition. I LIKE having to rely on support classes to get the job done. I LIKE strategic depth. The more the mod caters to a narrower field the more members of the community who perhaps don't share my same interest in depth are going to follow down that path of least resistance.
Plz correct me where I am wrong.

There you're wrong.

Utter failure to contribute anything thoughtful. Congrats sucker. Try harder?
-
rock paper scissors balance is so lame. You might as well play rock paper scissors
-
Dedicated throwers were never one of the strongest classes, the last few patches totally obliterated them but most people have finally accepted that after the initial calls of "good" and "serves them right."
-
its a shame thats what it is. nothing good about it, i can see teh qq about 12 throwing axes and a 2hander, but the ammount of misses you have makes up for that. Used to love my thrower a shame it whas overnerfed, hope they will rise again to something close to usefull.
