Title: What is the significance of gen 16?
Post by: Jeric on June 29, 2013, 07:23:08 am
I always hear people talking about gen 16 and how you should go on to level 33 and what not, what is the significance of this gen?

Gen 16 is the Maximum Gen in which your xp gain is capped, i.e. 1450 per x1 tick. If you go on to Gen 17, you gain no more additional xp per tick. So basically Gen 16 is the plateau, anything extra is just ..extra.

You stop getting the 30+ exp per retire once you hit gen 16.

As a side bonus, going to gen 16 means you retire 15 times for a total of 15 heirloom points. Assuming you don't sell any heirloom points, you can make 5 +3 items, which is enough for a full set of loomed armor and a loomed weapon (if single melee), or Helmet/Gloves/Body Armor and two loomed weapon slots (weapon and shield, bow and arrows, crossbow and bolts, etc).

Yeah but patience is a great thing to have. If you waited to get all 3 lp's together you could sell one and then buy a mw for 2lp and 50K+. So in the end you could make a few more mw's.

But this is a discussion for a different thread.

True true, although some people hit gen 16 before the marketplace was even introduced ^_^

Basically if you are Gen 16 you have been playing for too long

You only keep leveling after because there is no point in retiring (except looms). You have dedicated too much time to crpg that to not play it would be considered a waste of the rest of your time...

And those with higher gens? My main is gen 28 and other people are also far beyond 30.
You choose to come to a forum for a game and bring up that point. Haha.  :)
