Title: Zero slot 1h
Post by: FRANK_THE_TANK on June 21, 2013, 11:01:18 am
What is are the rules behind zero slot 1h swords?

I can't really figure it out...

Short Falchion
(click to show/hide)

Short Sword
(click to show/hide)

Nordic Short Sword
(click to show/hide)

Short Arming Sword
(click to show/hide)

Nordic Short War Sword
(click to show/hide)

Scottish Sword
(click to show/hide)

Broad Short Sword
(click to show/hide)

Wakizashi
(click to show/hide)

At first I thought it was sub 81 length, but the BSS is 87 and then I thought it's about sub 87 and 1 weight but the BSS is 1.3... So then I thought it was sub 87 and sub 1.4 weight... but then there are a number of other swords that aren't 0 slot with stats that stack up in much the same way.

Grosse Messer
(click to show/hide)

Italian Falchion
(click to show/hide)

Yanmaodao
(click to show/hide)

Falchion
(click to show/hide)

Is there any reason behind this? Other than syphilis.

In all honesty I'm only asking because I've always fancied the Italian Falcion and it would be a nice side arm for my xbow, I've got a loom BSS which is nice but really it's just a show piece with my horrible ping.

The pasta cutter is much too powerful to become a 0 slot weapon.

I think one of the sufficient conditions is, if it has "short" in the name, it gets 0 slot.

OP assumes that balancing team attributes traits to weapons according to rules.

Nomad Sabre should be 0 slot!

I imagine it's a combination of the weapons being short, and all being 30 or under cut damage (except with the thrust of one being 30, and the cut of one being 31).

Don't push it Frank, if anything I think almost all the 0 slot 1h's should be 1 slot, not that more should be 0 slot.

Grosse Messer is probably the best 1h sword in the game, so no way should it be 0-slot.

Just be happy that excellent swords like the Nordic Short War and Broad Short are 0-slot.

He's not complaining. He's questioning what it takes to be considered a 0 slot weapon. It does seem to be as simple as "short" being in the weapon's name. Not sure how the Scottish Sword and Wakizashi got in following just that logic though. I mean, I can look at their stats and call it common sense, but then we come back to "there are a number of other swords that aren't 0 slot with stats that stack up in much the same way.'

Someone on our TS brought up the 2H Mace, currently 1 slot, that has a reach of 70. 6 of the 8 0 slot swords have a longer reach than that.
