Title: I'd like to see river barriers turned off for a day

WHERE ARE ALL THESE FOLKS TRYING TO GO?!?

this could be a breakthrough in archaeology, trying to figure out the motives of the people of yesteryears strat

Once you "stop" in strat, doesn't your course stop too? 

If not, it would be nice to get rid of the people on these ledges and rivers...

Sorry I didn't complete my thought properly.

If your course doesn't stop when you hit a wall (like a cliff or water) and they are still destined for some other location, it would be nice to turn off the barrier for a day and let them pass through, and then it would get rid of the people that are stuck on rivers/ledge.  I didn't mean to actually get rid of them from strat entirely.

imo barriers shouldnt be unpassable, just so very much of a slow down that people would go around them.

would make the hole thing more user friendly without defying the existence of barriers.
