Well, I don't expect I'll ever play it (or BF3 in general) again, but might as well redeem it I guess.

Moral of the story : don't buy EA games

The problem with this strategy is that EA DOES publish some very good games, which basically forces me to buy EA games.

No it doesn't. When buying you weighted what you had to pay and what you would get and decided what to do based on incomplete (it's always incomplete) information. If you say that you are forced to buy something, it's probably that this thing has more value to you than you want to admit.

Applying the information I had about the gaming-industry AND the company I bought the game from, there was NO way I could have ever figured out that an addon I´ve bought was going to be handed out for free afterwards.
This shit is like I bought a book for my kindle which then becomes free a few months later; It´s outrageous. If things become free after several years, I can cope with that(Like with Portal), but on a relatively new game?
And Battlefield 3 is the best multiplayer shooter currently out there - which basically forces me to buy it if I want to enjoy the best quality multiplayer-shooter.

Take a look at battlefield 2.

CQ is pretty fun, if you want some faster paced CoD like action.

Yeah, only difference: It took several years for the Boosterpacks to become free.

Well, time wasn't a factor in your previous comment.
Everything is speeding up these days.

In what way is it bad for you or outrageous ? There was no way you could sell back those games before, you lost nothing. Also, CQ is about one year old. What about all the games that are distributed basically for free in humble bundles ? What about steam sales ? I don't follow your reasoning.

The reason you pay is that you really want to play the game which is in your opinion the best quality MP shooter, that's fine. Still there's nothing preventing you from not doing it.
