While I'm more likely to disparage the Yankees than the next guy, they weren't reacting to the thunder. They were being shocked by the lightning strike. Same thing happened in the booth and on the Red Sox side, i.e., they didn't ground that stadium worth a fuck. When you suddenly and unexpectedly have an electric current running through your body, your reaction might not be so manly either :P

Have you never had lightning strike nearby while you are outside? It's really loud. I've never seen anybody remain completely calm when it happens.
yes I imagine most people might be a little startled, but not go into full blood curdling cringe mode for 3 seconds. They were really freaking out, and just mainly wanted to post the video cuz I thought it was funny.

I was walking on a sidewalk one day in a light rain when a lightning bolt struck a tree in the yard next to me. I was 3 feet in the air from one stride to the next :P

Thunder less than 100 meters away is really loud, and you don't see it coming at all.
