Im wondering why cavalry were so nerfed? Make couched dmg isnt easy, on 70% of maps is no way to do this... and now u make that i even cant switch between lances and other weapon... for what? Its really unfair. You boosting archers and polearms (secondary mode...) and nerfing cav like we had enough problems..
-
Seccondary mode for polearms?
Choose what unsheathable weapon you want wisely.

the days when u can couch someone, pull out your sword and slash someone, then pull out your lance and stab them are long gone.

But if you do this for realism, many thnigs should change in crpg then. We play for fun, not for realism

light sabers will be fun too. And unicorns for riding and Elves! we must have some elves!

I guess it's not only realism, but more about balance.
Some seapons need to have some flaw to be balanced, and as it's a big weapon like pike, it's needed to be unsheatable.

I'm a pikeman and I actually kinda like the system. It's teaching me to use the pike more, and now that I'm not weighed down by all the other gear I used to wear I'm just a little bit faster so now I've found a tactic or two that makes it so that people don't want to bother blocking me so they get stabbed in the face. I only hope to get better too.
Naturally in a duel of any sort I'm screwed. I just stick with teammates and help them out.

I think he's talking about the couch only Great Lance. And yes, I agree, that weapon is useless now that it's not sheatable.

I think there was another topic about couching and stabbing with lances on horseback, and I heard people would like speed bonus from horseback to be reduced for lances while stabbing... or something. Can't be bothered to find where the topic is. In essence, they were saying it would make couch lancing more useful and common.

Couch lancing can't get more useful, because it's too deadly to perform anyway.
Couching was the most devastating charge manouvre in the Middel Ages, but since horses are so fragile in this game, couching isn't worth the risk.
