Title: How to enjoy the mod again, Help me

Hey guys, this is not a rant or a rage post just to be clear.

I simply stopped enjoyed the mod for different reasons, I stopped retiring and am now less than a mil away from 32,
I like the clan im in, I like my gear yet I feel bored, unmotivated and depleted ( been like this for a while ). Heaven't played the game for a week and once i returned i logged on and hated it.

I dislike Strat and practically never played it properly, what is there left for me to play for?

How do you keep it fresh and not boring?

I would really like to still enjoy this mod and i have beem playing it from dec 2010 and would still love to enjoy it as I did before, for the old times sake but i can't.

Your help is appreciated.

You used "dec 2010" in wrong context.

Just have a break. it always works, also alts make the game a lot funnier so create some weird-ass troll character and enjoy killing ranged once again ;-)

If you really don't want to quit, try making an alt and experiment with builds. Also maybe switch from your weapon of choice (???) to an extreme style of a weapon, such as a long maul, warhammer, goedendag etc...

Or you can just stop playing this game all together.

Not making yourself play the game for the sake of your clan is one thing.

Stop caring about the scoreboard.

Stop playing with boring ass strength builds, go for speed.

Be okay with doing other things, play the game when you feel like it.

That's what i did, when i had pretty much stopped playing the game, now i'm playing the game somewhat regularly and actually enjoying it again :)

Experiment with builds, or simply take a break and come back when you really feel like playing again.

I'm in a similar situation so currently I've been taking a break from cRPG at least until I can afford a training lesson. I'll play DoTA and enjoy the summer in the meantime, I suggest you also try similar activities :)

Since i started playing iv done a few different things to keep it fresh.

Iv switched theme on my main chara. Changed build on my main. Iv also done as said above and taken 6 month breaks. Also can make alts to try out fucked up builds and use all the money/looms to buff ur main even more. Also iv been in clans that have events such as training or clanmatches to keep me going.

Not so much these days tho.

But for those rainy days, maybe try creating some serious hybrid char and try new stuff with it?

prpvi,  its fucking summer!  best time to not like a game.  fuck the mod for now,  go out enjoy the sun and you friends n do all the shit you cant in winter.  at some point youll hop on a server after that and youll be happy.

It's about people and spacing. I find that spacing out the times you play by two or three days helps. The biggest thing, of course, is the people you're talking to on teamspeak. If you enjoy their company and you all do things that amuse you in-game every now and then, it should keep your interest. Besides that, it's just the pull of the unique game mechanics.

Go do something else. If you feel like coming back then do, but just go live your life man. This is just a game, not an art, not a second job, not a relationship. If it's not fun anymore stop playing for seriouslies. Just jump on the forums and abooz people in game every now and then when you want to catch up with "the old gang".

First of all thank you all for the suggenstions and trying to help.

Let me adress a few of the suggestions.

1: it's summer go out have fun. I play cRPG mostly in the evening ( somtimes morning but that's just horrid ) it's my evening activity, I am outside most of the the day and when i come home I like to log on for a few hrs. I did take some time off, I was away for a week, went to Paris and what made me sad and actually why i made this topic is the fact i really was looking forward to loging on sunday after a week and it was utter crap, hated it.

2: change build, equipement etc. I have a vanilla soon to be 21/21 2her build ( using MW Katana, MW Nodachi ) love my build, my weapons, been doing the Asian theme for a while and no im not bored of it nor do i want to change it, never been happier with the setup tbh.  I did over 30 gens retiring and tried all the builds and classes possible ( except mounted ranged, made stf, not my cup of tea ) so im pretty much settled on what i want and like. If you can think of a build and class i can try again that u find super fun sure i'll give it a go. paste it here

3: Leave cRPG: Did that too, RQ 2 times, heaven't played for around six moths from  may/june to november/december last year. Still came back so that is not going to work in the long run.

Oh and i never really watch the scoreboard and I don't strive to top the scoreboard for some time now, I do like to win and get the multi though, that is what drives me not the points or K/D

One month break. Only way,thrust me i had same feeling and solved with month break.
I am not enjoying this mod anymore cuz of 2h spam and ranged feast,not shure how to solve this one.

Get through some of your Steam backlog and return. Most of us have one..

Playing another game, especially in a different genre, can help refresh your experience.


Multitask different hobbies, etc.

Games in general get stale and boring if I'm not high when I play.  It's always been that way.  I mean single player games with stories (like Oblivion) I can do all day without any extra attention helpers.  But first person shooters (which I'm including Warband) I've always needed to be high to maintain my attention span and "try hard" pants for any length of time.  I'm an enhancement smoker, so maybe it's not like that for all smokers. 

Also, I play other games when I'm dead (and that usually helps keep the game "fresh").  Oh and I only have the time to play (at most) 7 out of every 14 nights.  And that usually ends up being closer to 5 nights every 2 weeks.  I think that keeps me itching to play the game when I do finally get a chance to play.

laughed so hard when I watched the video and the pew pew sounds...it's pretty hilarious, but I'd probably rage quit the game after 3 rounds of that sound.

   Moisty, lately I only play when I have some of the best buddies to fuck around ingame, (which means QQfio, Polemy old friend, Potatoson, Feddy, cora, etc), and playing with them is the only reason I still care to log in, in this particular mod. And believe me, we do fuck around a lot, fuck the police. Loging alone only leads to find myself playing a couple of rounds on each char and finally quitting.


  It's a good mod for casual playing nowadays. Nothing else.

Amen to that! Games like CS, BF3, cRPG included, makes me rage instantly if i am not stoned. Every time i get killed, i imagine that scene:

Very unhealthy emotion! Deleted my main 2 year old char, while being in that state of mind. If i have to be sober, i am watching movies, trying to stay away from PC in general.

I did 8 gens and got burnt out and now only play occasionally after several months of not playing at all. I can't imagine doing 30 gens and ever wanting to touch crpg again. Seriously you need more than a weeks break. More like several months.

Carry sandbags at night to save your city from the fleet, then drink some well deserved beer (you rescued the city, yay!). then play crpg, join blueknight and bobby going naked berserker = fun.

I like to call cRPG the Heroin Addiction game, since it's absolutely terrible and makes you feel like you're dying, but you have to come back for another fix like your fucking life depends on it.

The only thing that gets me excited for the game again:

Stop playing for at least a month or maybe 2, then change something up, whether your class or choice of items.

I recently got really bored of c-RPG. It just so happened to work out that I promptly became too busy with RL things to play anymore. I'm just now coming back after about a 4 month or so break, and I'm actually having fun again!  :mrgreen:

cRPG is like any MMO, many people either cant or don't want to quit, even if they are bored with the game, WoWs a fine example of this. You know how many people are subbed to WoW but don't even play? A large amount, that's what. This is mostly cause their too attached to the characters they spent so much time grinding and leveling, or they don't want to leave their clan buddies/games community, that they've spent so much time to get to know and become a part of.

If you compare NI with DTV you've clearly never played it. There are bots to fight, yes but that is it. They aren't nearly as glitchy.

My suggestion is to swap your looms. Retire and try a completely different build. Get a sex change. Get a haircut. SWITCH IT UP! If you don't want to lose "your guy" then make an alt. Share some looms with your main (pretty much anyone can used +3 gloves, no matter what kind you have). Consider picking up just one +3 item for the alt - a horse, a main weapon, etc.

Join another clan. Or just hang out with them in teamspeak. New friends are never a bad thing!

Tried it out a bit last night, pretty fun actually. Just the lack of any PvP mode makes it a little discouraging. Wish they had an arena or something to face off against others or something. :/ But the whole crafting and item system is really cool. Something to play when I don't feel like playing c-RPG!

This, playing with friends can make a world of difference! Try maybe getting a theme going on, running around with a group of 4 or so friends who are all spec'd as xbowmen or agi 2Hers or something like that can be really fun and refreshing.  :D
