Nobody never ever never ever never ever never ever never ever reads the "beginners help and guides".

when you reach some level (dunno which) your equipment needs to be repaired, so use cheaper gear and cheaper weapons :) Basicly if your total cost of equipment is about 20k you should earn some cash.

If you haven't read the beginner's help guide, do so.
If you still have trouble, post what you have for armours and weapons and we'll tell you what can be changed.
To be honest though, you will be just fine at around 20-40k worth of equipment. You can see how much your whole equipment setup is worth on the right hand of the screen. However if you are new, try for the lower end so you can survive through x1 and build up a small mound of gold to get you through the losses.

if you have low wpf in a certain weapon it will break more often

Like norules said, the only stat that can change your repair is WPF. If you have more WPF skill for the weapon you are holding, it decreases the chance it will be repaired. Nothing will lower the cost of repairing items.
If you want to wear your beautiful, expensive items but still make gold, try making a "light" and "heavy" equipment set. When you join the server, start off with the light gear. You should be able to make gold, even if you are stuck at x1 multiplier. Once your team wins a few rounds and you have a higher multiplier, switch to the heavy set of items. You should be able to maintain your gold (unless you are wearing full plate or have a very expensive horse).
Or you might find out that you like the lighter set of armor and stick with it! 8-)
