Title: I just learned a new word today : "Piezoelectricity"
Post by: Sir_Hans on May 17, 2013, 06:54:08 am
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity)

"...and the piezoelectric igniter, which generates sparks for small engine ignition systems (and gas-grill lighters) by compressing a ceramic disc..."

I wonder if its possible to smoke a bowl with one of these.

*adds that on list of things to try before I die*

Errr, that's what generates the spark in most lighters.

I heard that before, although had no idea what it actually meant.

It's ok for bongs and pipes. Though constant click-clickeddy-clicking when trying to smoke a pipe in a public place - attracts unneeded attention. So my personal favorite is this:

A perfect lighter! Hand picked out of hundreds locally available. :)

Constant unadjustable 2.5-3 cm flame. Long-lasting, and all its parts function well, until the very end. Resistant to heat, never melted on me, unlike so many other disposable lighters. Very compact and silent. Yeah, and dirt-cheap! This one is my next best favorite:

It is noisy, and costs 2-3 times of the above one. Otherwise a great lighter for bongs, pipes, and everything else, that needs to be heated under an angle.

P.S.

I wonder if anyone is using a specialized pipe lighter?.. Zippo and such, are shit for that task, but there might be some durable pipe lighters out there?.. Preferably something that doesn't scream - pothead, when you see it :)

Aye, crickets are great lighters.

I carry one with myself pretty often.

Djeep lighters are the best... They last like 15 times longer than your average bic lighter.  :)

Plus their odd shape and size reduces the chances of your friends pocketing them on accident.   :D

And even better your thumb is farther away from the flame so I never burn my thumb torching a bowl for 15 seconds.

made in france too! not china!
Très meilleure machine de la flamme! or something like that!
