Just now, to my complete surprise, I was attacked by the Hounds of Chulain. With no armour or decent weapons, a few fellows tried come to my rescue, but we were obviously defeated. That's fine and all, but suddenly I find my guy in Europe. Is that normal? It will take weeks to get home (a lot of mountains and rivers to avoid, and I'm not on Strat all the time for course changes).
Please advise this poor noob.

As far as I know, that's what happens when you're wiped from the NA strat map. You take a vacation in Europe. You should be thanking them for paying your way! (And secretly plotting their demise at the same time)
-
If you get attacked (and wiped) in EU after getting sent there does that teleport you back to NA? If so you should put a bounty on your head and get fucked
-
Ok, thanks. It gives me a chance to let the vitriol build within me I guess. And yeah, that would inspire me to get my ass kicked (again) kasMVC.
-
getting attacked in eu just sends you to a different place in EU...
Stop at a fief.. Get some horses and it will be a fast trip back. Justdo not touch S/D and usually a good idea to talk to the people where you land.

Sounds like good advice- though I don't know what S/D means.
-
S/D is the Goods limitation on fiefs.
Dont touch other fiefs goods unless the owners give u the green light (because if not, they will likely attack you if they noticed).
But yeah just do as BaleOhay said if u want to get back to NA as quickly as possible.
A little trick is setting your troop count to 1 and buying 2 rounceys in a fief, then u will be able to move with great speed bonuses

Ah, okay thanks. I'm gradually figuring this Strat thing out. Who knows, I might have fun with this someday.
-
That, or you'll eventually turn into a big sperging nerdlord who gets hard to tears in the diplomacy section and gradually evolve into a homoerotic vampire RP writer like kasMVC aka Cikel
-
Hmm, that sounds like fun too.
"He wielded his mighty broadsword, ready to strike... then he noticed the soft whiteness of his victim's neck- the pulsing blood in his veins. "Ooh my," he twittered, "Forget the slash, I'm gonna thrust this cowboy."
Well, there's a start, and I only just started playing Strat. The future looks bright!

Happened to me as well. Went to america, fell in the grand canyon, respawned in europe...
-
Thanks, chadz

Sorry my son but it would appear my border guards found your presence insulting. Best join the free peasants and try toiling in the fields for your meals. Warfare is no place for hobbits.

With all due respect to your Grace;
Toiling in the fields would be preferable to just being a brood hen spawning troops for your castle. I realize I made some diplomatic faux pas, and perhaps should have let you know I intended to keep up my vassalage. But, alas, I don't use steam.
Fortunately, I'm figuring out this strat game, and hope to make some money and might have a chance to have some fun, as a good "vulture come to grow fat on the remains of war". An indie can still make friends and can perhaps have a slight influence. Personally, I like many others, would like to see more indies. I understand that is not the best way to build empires, as reliability isn't guaranteed, but I really do like chaos.
Hope to battle next to you soon, your kingship,
your bleeding, beaten friend
