Today i got very angry. I reported someone (DKG_ESCA) and he got banned for two days. (Poll abuse)

What now? I joined, I saw esca again! WTF. I asked him how he got unbanned, he responsed : Ergzengel is our homie. Thats why, Got screenie if neccesary.

Ofcourse we all want to be unbanned faster. But then you wont learn anything,

Also, people that made u banned are happy cuz they finally made a troll banned. then you see that he got unbanned again cuz they are friends with admins!? Thats unfair.


Now people say. But you also got banned and cried for reduce! Yes i did, i shoundlt have been unbanned, but that shows how easy it is. Get banned, send QQ message to admin. Get reduce.

very frankly, i think theres abit too many game admins or maybe headadmin(s) need to spank their imps abit more? :)

Here's my philosophy:

People that do bad things should be warned & banned
People that continue to do bad things should be banned longer
People that deliberately do bad things should be banned longer
People that apologize for doing bad things should often be unbanned more quickly

But underlying all of this:
we're playing a video game

I take what I do as an admin seriously, but being a admin in cRPG isn't a very big responsibility, nor are the people breaking game rules violent criminals that need to be locked away to protect the populace.  Long bans are sometimes necessary when people deliberately or flagrantly disregard the fun of others for their own enjoyment, but most of the time a slap on the wrist or a small timeout is all that's needed.  When people demonstrate the ability to rationally discuss something or apologize about rule-breaking that was done in the heat of the moment I'm much more willing to reduce or eliminate bans, depending on how the person has behaved historically.

So long story short IMO long bans should be reserved for the people that actually deserve them.. being upset about someone getting unbanned early feels rather petty to me.

2 days is quite a short ban IMO. In Native they call a short ban 1 month.

So you create a rage/qq thread because two trolls told you that they were unbanned because I am their "homie"? Are you kidding me? I am probably the last person in this game who should be considered as "homie" of DKG. I am banning those guys all the time...

Reducing bans is totally up to the involved admin. Esca will be banned again by the way. All of you should really stop this. Next time there will be much longer bans. I have enough of your behaviour.

His ban was reduced because he told me that Nukkel provoked him before (which I believed him) and promised not to do it again.

He was banned again because he abused my kindness and spread lies instead of changing his behaviour.

I am a little bit frustrated, because it is really annoying having to read such lies when you come home. Two people troll you and claim that one of them was unbanned because I am their "homie" (seriously?) and the first thing you do is opening a new thread where you accuse me of abusing my powers?

being strict doesnt only mean always going for the longest ban, it means being correct and using the same rules for everyone. this also applies for unbanning people.

So you banned a guy, reduced his ban sentence because he promised to be nice, and ended up banning him again after he was unbanned because he bragged about you reducing his sentence? So in essence, if you're getting a sketchy off-record reduced ban, don't go around bragging about it.

tl;dr: ain't nobody got no time for dat (dat being sassy to admins unbanning folks early)

Reducing bans is a common practice. Just for your information. He got banned again because he learned nothing out of it and started provoking Nukkel instead. So I don't get what's your problem.

Anyway, let me get this straight.  You reduced a ban sentence and then banned him again for a total amount of time less than the initial ban should have been?  How do you expect anyone to take you seriously?

Ehm, he actually is banned for the same time as the initial ban (+/- 2 or 3 hours)... I banned him for two days (http://forum.meleegaming.com/eu-%28official%29/dkg_esca/ (http://forum.meleegaming.com/eu-%28official%29/dkg_esca/)). Then he was unbanned after about one day and now got an additional day for provoking Nukkel. So 1+1=2. Shouldn't be too hard to understand, even for you.

Maybe there should be generally some more admins at te EU servers.
I think there are too less admins, especially if people need them. I often saw people getting insulted hardly or a guy who was teamhitting the whole team and teamkills everyone. That's time for me to write to admins with the admin chat. Nothing. QQ. Nothing. What should this be?! How
many EU admins do we have? 2?! It seems so! Generally I would try getting more ppl to admins. Just maximum 5. But active ones!(doesn't mean they play all day) but there wouldn't be such problems any longer if there would be more admins, they cold talk to each others if they aren't aure what to do with these guys. More admins=more fairness~>strict bans!

I meant EU generally. EU includes the Eu1 New server, EU 2 EU 3 EU 4 EU Double exp and EU5 (dies this server exist? xD)

I would suggest making a new list of wanna be admins of EU. There should be picked out 3-10 of them for being admin. Promising to be STRICT admins.

I 'll maybe apply for EU 7 ... don't want to be annoyed with EU1, 2 , 4 , ... I want stop to see all the time leechers and virgin killer on this server ... like DKG  :lol:

But I need your support ... I'm a quite mature guys despite I'm 16 year old (near of 17), I'm cool, but I'm ashamed to see all those rule breaking in this gamemode because admins are NEVER THERE !!!

My view of admin role is

1/ warn
2/ kick
3/ and then,  ban

I'm quite active, I can be more often on IRC chat , I always visit the ban section,  etc ... If you don't have faith in me for this job, just ask to karasu , Uther Pendragon , or other DTV players ... I'm clean, nothing to ad.
