Title: How are character's stored? Cloud thjrough game key or hard drive?

I am completely reformatting my harddrive, is there a character file I need to keep, or is it kept on cloud??

Your char is saved on c-rpg.net. And is accessed using the serial key. So if you wipe your drive, then reinstall the game. You'll be able to use your Acc just fine.

Hold on! Your character's experience, gold, and inventory are saved on the website. Your character's appearance (face, skin color, banner) are saved on your hard drive (sorry, don't know where the file is). You might be fine without your original face, but some people spend a lot of time getting their character to look just right. Losing that could be upsetting.

In that case just take a screenshot of the sliders and you'll be fine.

C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband is the path, I believe.  profiles.dat is the file where your chars appearance (as you make 'em on your creation screen) is stored.

Three backups on various drives/usb sticks, and a screenshot of the sliders printed off and taped to the wall behind my monitor.

I reformated my computer to factory settings, forgot to backup my characters and now I lost my chars. unique face :(

You know, not everything that is not on your computer is stored in "the cloud".
