Title: best light armor horse lancer build?
Post by: skkk on May 06, 2013, 05:00:42 pm
i wanna play a best light armor horse lancer , which could beat any other cavalry easily . but the weakness is maybe easily take down by range.
so i choose arabian warhorse and heavy lance , but i find i am easily defeat by 1 hand heavy cavalry .why ? even i think their arabian cavalry sword is ridiculous longer than my poor thrust angle heavy lance. maybe i use wrong horse or wrong weapon ? heavy lance is good in native but bad in CRPG ?
Can someone share me some experience and build for my light armor horse lancer ? thx and forgive my english.

Heavy Lance is garbage. Use Lance or Arabian Cavalry Sword. Great Lance and Paramerion are also good options.

unfortunatly the heavy lance is only good in oberyns hands ^^

try the normal lance if you keep the horse,  and work on not only you thrust timin, but also horse movement.

In Native you can look all the way behind you and stab, that is probably why it feels worse here.

On my stf I was trying out a 21 18 build with 6 riding 7 ps 6 wm 3 restpoints either shield, if or athletics
i was using the turkish armor and the light lance
the light lance is pretty awesome you can 1hit with couches not like the heavy lance its fast and the damage is insane and with a courser combined the range is less of a prpblem

The heavy lance is fine for taking on other horsemen (pretty terrible for going up against infantry).   If you're riding an arabian, it should be relatively easy for you to line up your heavy lance angle so that you can out range any other cavalry.  It sounds like your problem has to do with the positioning of your horse (and/or spatial awareness) and with enough play time you will get better at this.

Riding the arabian, I'd suggest a level 30 18/21 build like this:

    Strength: 18
    Agility: 21
    Hit points: 53

    Converted: 8

    Power Strike: 6
    Athletics: 7
    Riding: 7
    Weapon Master: 3

Polearm WPF: 132
