Title: Less environment changes
Post by: DaveUKR on May 05, 2013, 02:12:59 pm
Hello. It's a long time that a huge part of this community asks to do some easy things that are still not done by devs. First of all I want to ask to make night time like 4 times less than we have now. The problem is the night time overlays the real daytime in EU and it's a big pain for the eyes of those who are not living inside a prison. Second thing is weather, the amount of fog/rain/snow is ridiculously high and should be like 10 times less. Environment changes should be rare and add diversity to the gameplay but not annoy people. I don't know why it requires years to fix such easy things.

Fog is fun, rain should be removed, who the fuck cares about whether it is day/night?

The rain chance is currently 15% which is way over the top for most game sessions, just 5% would probably be a big improvement. Same with night and fog, where they should be fun and rare occurrences these are mostly just nuisances.

Constant rain is noisy, too frequent to be charming but more importantly it fucks over your stats unreasonably (and in arguably the least welcomed way), snow still has that irritating rain sound effect, night often makes it too straining on the eyes to be really enjoyable during daytime and fog regularly extends round time beyond justice, when the mandatory one or two stragglers have to be sought out in the haze.

Though currently oversaturated, on the premise of low(er) frequence these could all be great and fun game mechanics.

Can you make it daytime ingame when it is daytime in RL?

That should be easy.
But it wouldn't be a good idea imo, since some people only play in sunlight while others only play in darkness.

I really like fog, as for the night I can sometimes fight with phantoms and block trees so that they can't attack me.

I am in this thread just because of the fucking night time. Its retarded, if we are going to fight at night, give us damn off-hand torches !
Can't see any swings, rarely see who is hitting me since %60 of the server always wear fucking kuyaks and become invisible under shades of night.
Yeah it's good to have variations on battlefield but not every fucking second.

Whenever its fucking night i log off and try to find a fucking server with sunshine in it ! If i can't i just simply quit playing this damn game.

Seriously this thread is maybe 3718th thread about reducing night time...
Please listen to your fucking community instead of adding bonus against shield to the fucking cleaver.

I do not agree that we should remove the night. Rather just brighten it slightly.

As for the rest, agreed.
