Gnjus: so i was thinking somewhere in the line of this:
Gnjus: 5 a side with 2 subtitutes, no restrictions whatsoever, no clans, no nations, no gear restriction, no class restriction, jus a chance to gather up to 5 friends that you regulary play with on eu1 or eu2 or whatever, no matter what clans they're in.....would pretty much stack all the active people who usually play in smaller groups or hang on TS like that

Gnjus: if someone wants to field 5 cav let them, 5 archers, 5 shielders or some combination why not ? everything has a counter

Gnjus: complain about what ? if they cant see the reasoning for that they dont need to apply

Gnjus: its down to this: are they able to get away from classical way of thinking and enjoy this mod for a change or not ?
Gnjus: would be interesting to spectate as well because you wouldnt know what kind of teams anyone would field, sign up would be by PM to those organizing and refereeing

Gnjus: judging by the state of the mod thats about the only thing that could work

Gnjus: i think its not a bad idea, you mind if i post this conversation on the forum so i dont have to write it all over and explain what im thinking about ? maybe someone can build upon this with some great suggestions ?

Gnjus: i know Byzantium have tons of members but inside their clan its pretty much always the same guys in same groups in sub channels on TS
Gnjus: so they could actually organize themselves the way they like
Gnjus: without having to think about 10 or 12 or 15 men roster for some big tourney
Gnjus: all other clans as well
Gnjus: only actives would sign up
Gnjus: much easier to have 5 guys then 10 or 12
Gnjus: and much easier with no thinking about clan, nation or whatever
Gnjus: it might just work if presented in the right way and if there were some rewards etc
Gnjus: and if the timing was good

Gnjus: yes ofc, first i was thinking about pasting this on the forum to see what others feel about it so we dont waste our time if there is no interest
One thing that becomes vital is:
1) The match is in an arena on the map and everyone else is standing outside the arena?
or
2) The match is played out on a map and everyone else is in spectator?
If 1), how big an arena is it? (Makes a big impact!)
if 2), what map(s) are we talking about?
Further note, remember that non-official servers always have some bugs, for example polestun
Okay, if it becomes big enough there is a real chance the overlords might help. Nothing certain though (You know how they are)

Well yeah since you've put it in such a nice way: we've got nothing except the basic idea. :P
Thread needs making, map needs making (i think one of the GK's would do with some modifications, date and time are easy: any weekend in may or june, admins are easy: we need one guy in charge and I'm sure Pancake, Crymoar, Teutten and Molly will be enough to keep everything in order. :wink:
Basically we need a strong person to hit his fist against the desk and say: lets do it !
One thing I need to make clear: I'm not gonna be the "person to hit his fist against the deck". I'm very much willing to help you out with servers, admining, making thread or whatever, but IMO you should be the driving force behind this project. You're the one who decides.
Ok I'm just gonna clear my desk up a bit to make some room for hitting. Consider it done. :wink:
