Title: Jarold's Model Workshop
Post by: Jarold on April 28, 2013, 08:52:56 pm
I'm using Wings3d and photoshop cs2 with the Nvidia .dds plugin. Not all weapons are here because some weapons have their own threads.

Download here :  http://www.mediafire.com/?1w8ptcynt9c6277     Must ask for permission to use, unless it is going to be used for cRPG.

One Handed Morningstar

I made a one handed Morningstar, its identical to the two hander version but I made it less edgey, less reach ( 70'ish ), and different texture.
It's reach is about the same as the Military pick's reach. UPDATE Retextured, slightly remodeled.

It has two different textures.

Helmets

I was always annoyed by the way the great helmet just floated without a neck so here is something for the neck/

(click to show/hide)
Just the regular great helmet with a neck coif.

(click to show/hide)
Just the winged great helmet without its "feathers".

Greaves

Now please don't laugh at my first attempt at an armor piece.

Random Models

Just random stuff that I made while bored.

The metal looks a bit too clean, but otherwise those models are pretty good :0

Of course this coming from a guy that doesn't do any modeling in the first place

if the handle is longer you could probably argue for a 2H secondary mode (I know that these are only models but it would be nice to have more 1 slot 2H weapons).

This

Also, the guy seems to be holding the sword is a weird way, almost looks like it will fly out of his hand.  (Too far down the hilt?)  I know you are still working on it

I love the 1h Morning Star though :)

Yeah that was bugging me too, working on it!

Ok made the handle for the 1h flamberge bigger. The metal texture looks white but I think that's because im in dx7.

damn jarold, nice job. Would be great if these were put into the game.

though from the screenies it defiantly needs a little work on the metal, just doesnt look right. I think it might be becuase its predominantly one colour. otherwise thumbs up.

P.S. miss you baby ;)

Just a style suggestion (people may disagree with me) but I would like to see more of a crossguard on the 1h flamberge. Something like that on the far right sword:

Warning: massive image

Obviously not including the basket hilt (though the basket hilt would be sweet). It is just my opinion though and the models are awesome as is.

Retextured the mourningstar and made it less edgey at the handle and shaft. Also made a final boss inspired mw version of the 1h flamberge when I was bored. Feedback/criticism greatly welcomed!

The game does need a 1h Morningstar, and that model looks good to me. For stats, I would say 70 reach, 29 pierce, 96 speed, bonus vs. shield.

Basically should be balanced against the broad 1h battle axe secondary mode. The above stats give it 2 more dmg, 3 less reach, and 1 less speed than the broad 1h (and the fact that you don't need to hit X to break shields).

That sounds like a well balanced weapon stat actually!

The handle on the flamberge looks a bit long for a one handed weapon. Maybe it should be like langes Messer with a 2h mode on x.

Do they have a specular map? It's hard to tell from the ingame shots.

Yeah just no normal maps, and I was going for the x  2h mode.

This looks pretty interesting, would be nice to see them inside the game, where the lighting is better and its easier to compare to other items.

Added a second Morningstar that has a different texture.

Added a pair of greaves.

Added a throwing axe.

Finally figured out how to create a normal map for my textures!
