Title: ignore please
Post by: Xelaris on April 18, 2013, 10:48:28 am
How come couched lance don't stay couched (becoming useless after first hit)

Its not like in native. after activate couching, you have (if i remember right) about 5 seconds to couch an enemy. After this time the couching needs to refresh. U can see a red symbol near your lance on the bottom right. When the symbol turns grey again, u can use it again.

That is exactly what i mean, it is not realistic, lances should be one time wonders

For the sake of gameplay, this has been discussed and denied many a time.

As much as I dislike cavalrymen, I don't think that you should penalise them for using a couched lance, they already have a turn rotation limit & even my leather jerkin has saved me from being one shot from a couch before.

I'll leave this in general discussion for now since it was stated as a question and not a suggestion.

well, i thought its just a question from a new player. But it seems u are requesting for endless couching for cav....  :? Its like a request for penetrating projectiles trough multiple targets or a Whirlwind-Slash for 2H or Pole...

I was not requesting for endless couching.
I was requesting that lances become useless after one time couching. Then you have to drop it. Like irl

And if a cut weapon strikes an archer when he is drawing his bow, string cut and he cannot use bow untill next spawn. And the weight of misiles (thrown and shot) should be added to the shield of the target, or to his armor weight if hit. Hits in the legs with blunt weapons should immedietly cripple the player, while being knocked down in heavy armour should need a teammate to help get them up when on grass, water, mud. An arrow penetrating the shoulder joint of plate should render that arm immovable untill you get the arrow removed, stabbing without kicking afterwards should get your sword stuck through the suction of the flesh, being cut in hand or leg should remove the limb, and being cut stabbed or clubbed in the face should make your screen go black and red and render your blind for that life. Reloading a crossbow in the rain makes it break and cannot be used again, a blunt sideswing to a horseman should knock him off the back of his horse....Ok? We doing it like real life now?

No, we arent.

Why shouldn't you be able to get up in heavy armor? It's not like there's 100 kg of metal on your belly.

Also I read somewhere from a guy that lances can be reused after penetrating by couch. But you will have to pull it.

Because it would be hilarious to watch lots of tin cans on the floor flailing their arms and legs in the air.

"Turtle tin men" as my friend just said.

I guess u know that most heavy cav were lifted onto there horses, because the couldnt just jump on it.

And another suggestion: if u hit the Weaponarm, the victim should drop the weapon and have to pickup again. At least for a random good chance.
