WTF is up w/ the repair rate on throwing weps. 165 WPF in throwing and my throwing weps get repaired 90% of the rounds. This has GOT TO BE a bug of sorts. I talked to chucky tosser who has over 170 WPF and his gets repaired almost every round too. That should NOT be the case.....

I make money in my medium weaboo armour and 4 throwing lances and even with 1 lance and 3 jarids (which effectively doubles the possible repairs costs). I'm not sure what the problem is..

well my throwing lances break almost every round and i'm in light armor and not making money. i'm kind of teeter tottering around break even right now.

1 lance and 3 Jarids doesn't double your repair chance. It's still 4 throwing stacks with 4 times the chance of breaking.
Remember, all stacks are an individual item with a break chance. If you got 3 stacks of jarids, you can end up having to repair 3 stacks in one round.
Oh, reduce throwing cost. Costs way too much for how useful they are.

I'm totally fine with this, it makes perfect sense considering throwing weapons are not 2h weapons.

Don't have a source, there probably isn't even one, considering this was done before patch notes existed. You'll just have to take the word of someone who (nearly) only plays a thrower with 4 lances. or try it out yourself.

I use 4 throwing lances and have never had to repair more then 1 lance.

If you got 3 stacks of jarids, you can end up having to repair 3 stacks in one round.
Not true. It does increase the chance, but you can only have one stack of jarids broken in one round even if you have four stacks with you. It used to be different, but has been like this for a long time now.

Whoever said that increasing the WPF of the weapon you equip lessens the chance of it repairing was most certainly speaking out of his(or hers) asshole. I used a polearm and 1h for a gen with WPF for both around 100. And I think I rarely payed for any of em. Now I have just one blade with 150wpf and it breaks nearly every round.
Throwing is an extremely costly buisness. The chance to pay upkeep increases with every stack you add, like some here already said.

This is a very well documented feature for cRPG standards. It appeared in one of the mid 2012 patch notes iirc.

Huh, shows how stupid I was using a 1h, throwing axes, jarids and war darts at the same time when I was thrower :(

all ranged classes deal with this issue, it's just that xbows & archers usually have 2-3 stacks while throwers often have 3 or 4, and throwers weapons cost even more.
I think we can all agree that the upkeep system as a balance mechanism is horribly broken.

Being a thrower is going to make me poor. I get way more kills as a 2hander in mid - heavy armor and make money. On my thrower it's a lot tougher for me to get kills, i wear super light armor, and i'm going broke! What in the world. I hope that repair rates on throwing gets addressed in the future.
Hell I even made money on might light cav w/ mid armor and a 2hander. The potentional upkeep on that lay out dwarfs this upkeep!

Just curious, but the throwers who complain about repairs: how much wpf do you guys have? I always go for 130 throwing as soon as possible and then up that to 140 at lvl 31. Maybe the minimum to avoid the "too low wpf message" (7*13=91+whatever you need for your armour) is just not enough wpf to make money?

Chucky tosser has over 170 WPF and he has to repair his throwing weps almost every round he says. There is DEF an element missing in the mysterious repair bill equation for throwing.
