We're playing, playing, playing in joy and then map change to RANDOM PLAİNS the worst map ever.
-
No, best maps ever.
-
Random Plains are ok as long as there is no fog...
-
also fog yes.
-
Random plains are the best maps ever as long as they are not in fact Random Tibetan Mountains at which point they become the worst maps ever.
-
Random plains, a real mans battleground...
-
its always have mountains like alps
-
We shouldn't have random plains I agree, just generate a few plains which do not have excessive hills and put those in as regular, fixed maps. Open plains maps are awesome though.

Wrong, best maps ever. These are the only true "battle" maps (IMO). We have to suffer with 5 or 6 very enclosed maps in a row, you can deal with an open plain or steppe for one map in 20 or 30 or 40.
These are also the only maps when you have some infantry working together as a team.
Agreed that mountains all over suck, but that hasn't happened lately (even on steppe maps)

I agree, but whenever it's open plains on NA 1, one of these things happens:
1. There's so much fog you can't see two meters in front of you.
2. An admin changes it back to Arena with 120 players and no one has fun.
Sometimes, I think this game is 90% fog and night time.

Agreed, I like on some maps that there's fog (on some of the smaller maps, or maps everyone knows and always has the same 2 chokepoints at the end of a street), it can really change the map and make it feel like a totally different map.
But fog on open plains or steppes is just the worst.
Would be good if we had 5 or so decent terrain plains/steppes maps for battle and just used those in the rotation (along with no fog stipulation on these maps). I haven't seen the admins change the map the last few times I've played on the open maps, but when they do it really irritates me. We put up with so many enclosed maps (and usually all in a row) and they can't play one map where they need to rely more on teammates and terrain than a building and rambo playstyle and they lose their shit.

This is the thing that completely ruins plains, and it seems to happen on most plains maps...
2. An admin changes it back to Arena with 120 players and no one has fun.
This doesn't happen often on EU_1, but when it does, it's fucking sweet...
-
One thing that I've noticed is that on open plains maps, nobody complains about the engineers making a defensive position out of horse stakes and siege shields

Everyone has fun when I promise to change it to Arena and then never do, right? That's fun? Right? Guys? Whats with all the knives?

I just like variety in my maps. Plains can be OK, but much prefer town maps

Word.
Plains is fine. The random mountainthingy is just ultrabullcrap. It looks like God made a massive shit on earth and grass grew on it.

With the addition of Wooden Stakes it makes Random Plains a bit easier but I think they need to be less hilly. Whenever the map generates a few hills, teams just love to set up their own little festivals and it basically turns into a camping contest and you wait for flags for 8 rounds in a row...
