Title: Frame stuttering in certain areas of the maps
Post by: Pollux on April 08, 2013, 09:35:07 pm
My FPS is a constant 59(I have it capped) and it does not drop while the frames on screen stutter as I move through areas of the map. It's hard to say where on the map it occurs, but it will always be in the same spot on the same maps which forces me to avoid fighting in those areas. Two of the maps which I remember this happening on is the map with the treefort in the middle surrounded by ruins, and the only barren desert map with the carts scattered around.

Do I need to use a newer version of Warband? I'm using version 1.143.

Can you give exact map names and make a screenshot of the position where it stutters?

Well, that's probably your PC not being able to handle lots of bushes and/or trees. I'm more interested in specific spots on maps causing performance drops for no apparent reason.

Actually I had the same problems on some maps, only got screen for 1 map though.
Like told before, it says in the top left corner that my fps are at 60 like always, it feels like 20 though with all the stuttering.

It was on this map (forgot the name :3)
(click to show/hide)
It got worse the closer I got to the mountain at the spawn seen in the screenshot.
Funny thing is that if I'm close to this mountain and turn my back to it it's fine, but if I get close to it AND look at it my fps drop like crazy.

Also having it on that one Native-SiegeMap, I believe it was Jameyyed Castle.

As soon as I'm around the flagpole there, FPS drop down from 120 to 60.

Yet again i will tell my fix to those problems. I dont thing its "my pc" as cmpxchg8b said cus i got a PC that can run for example skyrim in max graph settings at 1920x1080x32.
Set the max fps rate below 60 fps. So put it to 59 or 58 or something. I dont say this will fix ur problem but it fixed mine.

This is correct documentation of my problem as well. I will start to do the same when I notice it.

Have you tried setting the maximum frames to 59?
