Title: If it ain't broke...

So last night on NA_1 we had some good times. For a few maps we had Fort Wars (sorry no screenshots of that) where both sides would build forts and then rain javelins from the sky onto the other fort. It was awesome. Then, we switch to the map pictured below.

One team decided "Hey, let's build a Small Siege Tower on the boat!" which really, was a funny idea, except...this happened....

The siege tower decided to grab the bridge (one of two entrances to their boat) and use it for god knows what reason as a dock. THEN what's even better is that when the Siege Tower elevated enough they could access the wheels, they could turn it and the entire bridge would turn with it.

I added a picture of the bridge when it started moving with people on it and while it was attached to the siege tower...

Those who were on the bridge or attempted to go across the bridge after it was removed--got stuck. Also, the bridge remained round to round attached to the Siege tower.



Great times.

Moral of the Story? Fix the fucking mod.

late night battle often brings things nobody would every be dreaming about. Its like as if these mysteries are magical. Always great times, this makes crpg.

Wait, did the tower literally grab the bridge prop in the scene, and then make the bridge prop its child?  What if you resized the tower?  Would it resize the bridge prop?  Obviously, this is a bug, but it might be possible to use this for other things (siege maps with specially-designed sapping points somehow)?

Yes, it grabbed the bridge prop from the scene and it attached itself to the Siege Tower like a leech. Its movements were even seamless while the tower was being manipulated.


Needless to say, most of us were so in awe of this grand sight we wanted to run across the invisible bridge to touch it....but little did we know

Moral of the Story? Fix the fucking mod.

From day one in this mod I couldn't help but wonder.......why on earth do these filthy American swines care about a mod that represents the part of history in which they didn't even exist ? I find their obsession with cRPG and similar stuff quite fascinating. They should be all about civil war & wild west instead of this men's business of hack & slash.

I'm no american... but I win even more! I'm Canadian and have even less ties to medieval combat... AND I'm mostly from Dutch heritage, and they didn't really do the whole medieval thing either! Do I win TWICE?

To tell you the truth...I'm not sure what Gnjus is trying to say. Not sure if being serious, trolling, or just being obnoxious. For the record though, Americans have just as much claim to Medieval history as a lot of Europeans do. Let's not forget, America was founded by "Pilgrim Europeans" + Some indians and of course, God himself. The rest of the people we just "Imported." Our bloodlines and interests can run just in deep into it as any other country's, besides, it's not a matter of who has claim to enjoy it--anyone can find it interesting.

Good question. The point of the thread is to glorify god, our savior and holy donkey AND PARTYBOY. I FORGOT THAT PART.. It derailed into a conversation of who has the right to enjoy and play internet swords and brush their virtual war pony.

Right gnjus because you were around in the middle ages, or any other current European's were?  For the record, 100% of my relatives descend from Europe and were in Europe in the middle ages, as I would guess most other "American's from European descent" happen to be as well.

Just putting it out there, but building siege towers and catapults on battle CAN crash the server and is currently NOT allowed until they are fixed.  Building one at the moment risks being banned for it as well the leeching if you are found sitting in the back not contributing.

Definitely had fun playing under PBOYs banner as part of the build team on the first map with the two opposing siege camps. The second map the BIRD crew was gone so I just got on my CHAOS main, but was lucky enough to wind up on the boat side with the Pup/Negga/Kampi build crew. Spent one of my lives jumping onto the "ghost dock" from the "catapult dock" and then getting stuck with Wolfgang. Some enemy started slowly sliding towards us and we gang beat his helpless self, lol. Was a fun time, both of those maps.

I'm glad building crews has made a resurgence. Shout out to everyone who participates, and shame on the clans who like to destroy equipment and ruin everyone's fun (you know who I'm talking about :cough:tkov:cough:)

Also if you plan on "driving" these props, the catapult is the best option because you can pull back the arm and push the block to move the prop up and down to access it, in addition to be able to turn it around and go back and forth.

Hey there are plenty of times I could've banned builders lately but did not.  I was just point it out that glitching like this IS bannable, and you could crash the server ruining the game for EVERYONE not just your team.

Yep. Siege towers and catapults, off limits. Making a ring of horse stakes and siege shields with a healing tent and a chest to spawn throwing javelins, A-okay. Making double ring (ie spamming more than one object to block movement), not okay.

We support fun. We can't support leeching and server crashing (or using the bugged siege tower that adopts the bridge on the maps either).
