Chambers are pretty useless right now, the only ones with a tiny amount of use are fast 1hander left swing/overhead chambers.
An easy fix to this is to add another bonus for chambering, something i've thought about is just making a chamber attack have the same effect as blockstun on the person being chambered, so once they block your chamber they cannot follow up with a hit and have to block again. Not a huge buff but one that would make chambers much more viable, in my opinion.

That would make them horribly overpowered since I already find chambering to be ez. Imagine constantly chambering one-directional weapons and just rendering them 100% useless.

Sounds good to me.

Doesn't seem needed. People are pretty good at blocking chambers they're expecting and even some of the ones they aren't, but they'll still miss enough for it to be viable. Especially in group fights, chambers are still pretty deadly. The real problem with chambers not being as effective as they once might have seemed is just game speed.

I juuuust learned how to chamber with 50% efficiency...but every time I chamber the other guy just blocks my attack.
Kind of useless.
-
If this were implemented I may be inclined to owe those who have endeavored to make this real my personal heroes. Greatest idea through the annals of mankind, perhaps stretching further than even our eldest ancestors, beyond that of even the unwritten story of the cosmos. No one ever has dared to dream this big. Dear Lord, I aspire to live in a world where chamber blocks blockstun. Please do this!

Only good chambers are accidental chambers. That or pikes/hoplites that make attacks that are easily chambered.
-
Agreed, chambering is not at all worth the risk it poses, I barely even dare to try it on battle and I'm hardly bad at it. I find this a good proposal.

See how well you chamber a wiggeled held longspear.

I would, the problem is they changed the animation which I will never get used to, that's why I don't chamber your "wiggeled held longspear." It's not as difficult as you make it out to be.

It has nothing to do with you not getting used to it, it has to do with the hit coming at a different point in the animation, depending on how you wiggle it. With the old stabs regardless of what the other guy did, you would know the hit would come a certain amount of time after he started his attack. This is no longer the case, thus you cannot chamber it based on timing. You can't chamber it based on the visual cue either, because it gets wiggled there is no telling when the animation will hit.
So you can't chamber based on what you see, nor can you chamber based on timing, which means chambering it is completely down to luck. This has nothing to do with you, this is just how it works now. I have played at least a 1000 hours of one directional polearm now and I know how to chamber, trust me, when a one directional really doesn't want you to chamber, there is a very small chance you will. I have tried for ages, but it is just a gamble, there is nothing you can rely on.

I've had the same experience. Polearm stabs became very very hard to chamber after the turn rate nerf patch.
About the thread as a whole, I think chamberblocking when you know you will succeed is 100% viable, except in duel.

M-kay... Not even sure how to explain the retardation..

#1 It is a support weapon
#2 It is a support weapon
#3 It is a support weapon
#4 Oh and if you get caught fighting anything else with a long fucking poke stick you should die anyway because you are not dwindling behind your teammates with an 245-300 length weapon praying to kill
steal the better players. You already have the opportunity to block every attack somebody throws at you anyway, now if you try the bullshit jump/spin swing and he just so happens to chamber you, I could
be wrong, but it should fucking hit you. "All chambers should be more effective across the board". In all honesty, I thought the last people who would actually say something would be the 1 directional weapon
users. No offense it is nice to have by your side to piss people off, but it takes little skill as is.

keep it up roh and I'm going to throw a cement block in your washing machine

Can you message me and tell me how to post a gif... lol tried would not work

Chambers are useless even in battle and siege(against not new players). Need small buff
-
I really want chambers to be a viable tool in actual combat. Risky but rewarding
-
Buffing chamberblocking also means buffing random spam, as if people weren't already doing that enough.
-
but kafein, i want people to spam randomly, easy kills

Not when they get lucky chamberblocks with their lightspeed miaodaos
I mean, even if they kill me like that once over ten fights, it's still too much

If someone is spamming you it probably means they think you're bad enough that it will kill you, and considering you complain about it..

Usually it means they're bad enough not to be able to reflect on their actions in the game, or cba to do it. People that keep doing the same thing and getting killed by the same people 9 times out of 10 are obviously doing something wrong.
Some of the good players do try spam on purpose when they see me (or so it seems) but usually they only manage to turn the fight into a boring blockfest. Overall, I find myself relatively weak to random spam because I love holds and feints, but that's only when the spam actually takes me by surprise. If not, I will play 100% defensive, even though in the end that's boring for both of us. I don't hate spam because it kills me all that often, I hate it because the most effective countermeasure is extremely bland.

I remember back at the end of 2011 getting my chambering up to about 80% margin, it was pretty much all I ever did. Block | Block | Fient | Chamber | lol | Chamber now raging player | lol | Chamber player | jump on corps. Now it seems when I'm watching the fights (can't chamber for shit with 180-300 ping) and I hear ye olde clangbangers go off that they are blocked over 50% of the time. Back in 2011 you really had to predict it was coming to deal with it like that, you couldn't possibly react. You had to guess that it was coming or suck the person into going for it so you could block it and then chamber them as they wound up another swing. It's a shame to see it become so ineffectual, I always found it much more interesting than fient spamming.

Clangbangers, almost forgot about that beautiful term.
