So what does everyone thing about the morning star as a 2h weapon?
-
It's shorter than most 2h, and not very fast. However, I really like it. The pierce damage and bonus against shields will let you break shields and take down heavily armored enemies alike. No other weapon gives you the ability to do both of these.
It's also a unique weapon for horseback. Takes some getting used to the speed and reach, but it is devastating if you land a hit with good travel speed bonus.
On my STF, I usually duel as 18/24 2 hand. High movement and swing speed negates the short reach and low swing speed of the morningstar. It's a lot of fun and quite effective.

Learn to chamber or you will get spammed to death by just about anything.

thx for the replies and yes ill try working on my chambers

You don't need too, 92 speed i way enough to not be spammed by anything even with 0 wpf as long as you have a correct footwork.
Chose the right swings depending the enemy's direction and use your A & D keys to hit faster. (don't forget to spin with your mouse)
For the morningstar pro and con:
pro:
-Does a shitload of damage *38 pierce
-Cheap *only 6k6
-It's really good for backstabbing in battle *You run fast with it because of the 1h holding animation and you can one shot people
-You can explode any shield really fast *pierce + bonus against shield
-Starting 21 STR you can relay on block stun to spam most longsword/1h(without shield) users *3.6 weight
-Works great on EVERY possible build from 15 to 45 STR
con:
-Really short *30 cm shorter than most 2h which make you an easy target for backpedaling whore player
-Unbalanced *Combined with being short it really makes you vulnerable to longer weapon
-Bad for duel *consequence of the two precedent cons
Basically it's a really good weapon except against 2h and polearms players with more ATH than you.
