Title: Glaive or Swiss Halberd?
Post by: Testicleez on April 02, 2013, 01:05:44 am
I'm torn between using the Glaive and the Swiss Halberd. Most people seem to prefer the Glaive, yet the Swiss has +2 length, +0.4 weight, +2 speed, +6 thrust (pierce), -1 swing (cut), bonus against shield

The Swiss can't sheath and can't be used on horseback, but that's not a concern at all to me.

Am I missing something here, or is the Swiss a better polearm for an infantryman?

Glaive also has the not to be forgotten benefit of two extra attack directions. If you're comfortable with blocking a bit more, 2-d polearms are plenty viable and fun though.

Ah, yeah I just looked it up and found out. I think I'll stick with the Glaive then, thanks for the help.
