I played on EU the other night when I was level 2 and was 5th place. There was 40+ people on.

I have been waiting for an excuse to post these. Byzantium rolling dat x5 on NA_1. Templar_Lerva was also with us on Teamspeak. All consequent maps, screens only at the end of the map.

It's not a fair comparison because EU players get much better ping to NA servers than most NA players do to EU.

Plus battle doesn't mean anything, any scrub can do well on battle servers. The NA duelists are by far superior to anyone on EU  and I doubt they would lose any duels to the "best EU duelists" even if equal ping.

Duel doesn't mean anything. Having a 2h, armour and the right build is half the duelling skill. Everyone can block everyone else if they wanted to these days so duelling is dead. whereas battle is the mainstay of the game where duelling skills + strategy and awareness skills matter, which equals total skill. Not any scrub can do well consistently on the battle server.  I bet you also think that whoever tops the duel ladder is the best player in the game.

Or maybe a 39/3 str polearms build would work better.

So you as a NA player need a point gathering build to do well on EU servers? :)

Also, badplayer, battle server is where skill's at, duels are for scrubs.

This is what I was referring to actually. But it is true that it is easier to get high scores on certain classes than others. It's just certain builds are better for certain situations that's all.

Most important skill in battle is teamwork. You can be great at the mechanics and also great at teamwork (it certainly helps), but the inverse is not necessarily true. The best duelers aren't always the most useful people in battle. There is some correlation obviously, but not entirely. Passable cog in the machine that plays his role>suicidal hero who thinks he can always take on 5 people and charges recklessly, or doesnt pay attention to ranged, or cav, or anyone he's not currently hacking away at.

While I do not have screenshots I have repeatedly seen when about 80 players on, the same players get 20-30 kills a match.
Rohypnol and Devilize are just a few.

You'll clearly notice how I'm not online when these EU's are topping NA scoreboards (nor are you taking end round screenshots).  I'm guessing you're not playing in NA prime time (the only time I play)

Dueling is the only place where skill can be quantified, sure most people who go on duel just do it with +3 heavy armour and str builds and blocking is very easy these days, but because it's a 1v1 if you are more skilled than another person, you should still be able to beat them quite easily even if it takes a while.

Battle servers take 0 skill, it's just killing bads and whenever meeting a good player in a 1v1 dragging the fight on til one of you backpedals into your team and beats them with a numerical advantage. Not to mention ranged and cavalry players having a massive advantage and being able to effectively neutralize any single player on the enemy team if they want to be that much of an asshole by targeting them every round until they're dead.

Well I was technically 2nd best K:D ratio there, but according to score top 2 were EU (and much appreciated!)  :mrgreen:
