Add an option to define your strat warrior. Now its your main by default, but many don't like their char for strat.
Give everyone the chance to make something your strat char other then the main.
1 char only, which you only get to choose once per strat (unless you delete it ofc)

There is a respec button you know and it won't kill you!
Otherwise you might be rich and buy yourself a training lesson. :o

No i think what Haboe means is like when you play a HA and you really love it (look at spleen or Cris) you dont want to play something else. BUT for strategus a HA is almost useless. and therefor a so called "strat-char" would be really nice.
so they can keep there HA char which would be useless for Strat and at the same time can play with there "strat-char" as maybe polearmer.
+1

no wait I play HA in strat, 1 million away from lvl 33.
Even I did respec from lvl 33 cavalry/polearm/crossbow to HA.

and u are useless

hmmmm, how about NO! 8-)
I personally think Dach is one of your more valuable players. He might not do as well point-wise or kill-wise as everyone else, but the impact he has on crossbows (or at least me) is tremendous. Nothing is more frustrating than finding cover to reload and then finding out Dach has re-positioned (yet again) to keep shooting/suppressing you. The last Nova Sekhtem battle he was even breaking our equipment chests and healing tent. Whenever I see Dach on the roster I sigh and resign myself to playing another game of hide-and-seek with him.
Won't say it's as easy as all these hybrid Cav/2h Cav/polearm STR krutcher, but it's not useless!

Sounds like a good compromise between only the main and all char allowed

Seems pretty pointless when you could just use your main as your strat character and an alt as your cRPG character. Either way you would still need to level up both and you can transfer your loomed gear etc.
Generation bonus isn't really an issue either as it will do you better with strats EXP then cRPGs.
So what bonus would you actually gain from having a main, a strat char and an alt?
I think the ability to rename without having to retire or delete would be a better option.
Thoughts??

Your main can still be your strat char, but you can also pick an alt for strat if you want that.

Yea if they changed that to be an any time name change... Even with having to wait and pay.. Even if you had to add a note explaining why you wanted to change and limit you to 1 name change per month or something.

What benefits would you have by having a Strat, a main and alts?
-
Why don't you just play Native then, if you want classes. I want to play MY warrior.
-
Why don't you just keep your main at 30+ and level and retire alts? I've considered it but gen bonuses.
Edit: seen this topic around, along with a similar one. Got it confused with the similar one, I believe my post is irrelevant in this one.

You main because you like it in crpg. Trower or HA or HX are used plenty in crpg, but mostly forgotten in strat. Trowing weps are still not standart in army's + it took over 3 months for them to actually be used.
Same with archers with 5 PD, they cant use the longbows and rus bows most factions use in strat. For htme the extra value is that they keep their main on their class, but they can select an alt as their strat warrior.

I thought that the only defference between main and alts was that only main could join in strat.

60% says yes, 40% says no...
I still don't see the harm in this thing :P
