Title: what to do now?
Post by: Mlekce on March 29, 2013, 05:14:28 pm
I am gen 20 and 1milion exp from gaining lvl 31. I still don't know with what build should i go to lvl 33.
This is current one.

lvl 30

Strength:18
Agility:21

One Handed:111
Athletics:7
Iron Flesh:4
Shield:5
Power Strike:6

one skill point unused.
Should i go to 21/21 build at lvl 32 or 18/24 at lvl 32 or should i just throw points in wm and get 110 wpf in 2h and 107 wpf in polearms at lvl 32?
Getting more shield and 1h wpf is not an option.

only 111 wpf? o.o

get 21/21 and I always aim for minimum of 3 WM.

Not completely noticeable, but the lower agility you have it is more noticeable.

My favorite build as 2H was 18/24 with 3 WM, 8 ath, 6 ps

I'm currently 21/18 lvl 32 cav shielder. Would've loved to have a 21/21 build.

Hey :)
I think you know, I am shielder too. Here is my build:
Level 30  -- atm 2.9 million needed for 31

15 Str
21 Agi

Onehanded: 145
Poelarm: 71 (think going for 100)
Crossbow: 4 :P

IF 5
PS 5
WM 6
Shield 7
Ath 6

Using +3 One handed battle axe and Iberian Mace, +3 Greem Crescent Shield (green one :P), Knightly Heater shield too sometimes, Boar Spear, Peltastos Armor, Mongol Armor, Nordic Huscarls Helmet, NOrman Pot Helmet (the 1 for 5900) Leather Boots, Splinted Leather Graves over Mail, Mail Guantles..

To the difference between 111 Onehanded and 130+ is much in my opinion. Ur weapon swings much quicker and u can easier and better handle it. For me now, 145 WPF in 1h is enough. I do well with it and I am using Polearm as sidearm so I wanna have 70+ WPF there.
I hope I could help YOU

That little axe is OP-est shit in game. I think it is able to spam katana sword. :D
I had balanced 18/18 build and 6wm all points in 1h i didn't feel any difference, all SB guys with that tiny axe were spamming me so i don't know should i get any points in wm.
I like to wear heavy armors, that is why i was thinking about 8 athl

Haha :D Then why would you spend some points in Athletics? Go Plate and u are liek godmode :P
Just joking mate... But in my opinion there is a difference between 111 Wpf and 145 Wpf. And yeah, the SB guys are axe spamming...-> ANNOYING! but some others can play with the axe like with a sword, means they aren't soamming, they use some tricks and tactics to hit the enemy.

If you're going to wear heavy armor you might want to think about a little WM too.

Level:32
Experience:21,808,607
Level up in:15,523,670

Strength:21
Agility:18

One Handed:141

Weapon Master:4
Athletics:6
Riding:6
Iron Flesh:1
Shield:5
Power Strike:7

This is my build atm, getting 4 ironflesh when I level up to 33.

If you're going to wear heavy armor you might want to think about a little WM too.

+1

The heavier your armor is, the more useless athletics become.

In theory that is correct, but in practice it isn't. You ever see bjord, have a thee, rantrex,,dado, ave emperor..? All of them wear heavy armor and it doesn't slow them down too much, they are still deadly. I tried myself wearing heraldic trans and nothing special about loosing speed.
You trade some speed for being able to survive 5-7 hits. With this much survival i can get more points, and more kills then wearing light stuff.
Also don't give a shit about arrows and bumps.

bjord is 18/24 and ave afaik has an agi build too. besides 2h can have heavy armor because they dont have a shield that weighs 7kg

bjord had 24/18 build as shielder and he was in pronoia armor.

Exactly same like my build :) except he put strength instead of riding, it works but I personally feel too slow with pronoia, not my preference.

WM < weapon speed

So you will always be able to spam with a fast weapon even with 100+ WPF

But, 150 WPF with a 100 weapon speed weapon is faster than a 100 WPF 100 weapon speed weapon.

Depends if you want to be faster than the fastest, or save skill points. I can see you are trying to save skill points for other stats and I confirm that it is a good idea if you gear yourself with a build-compatible weapon.

I can confirm the "diminishing return speed increase" of ATH when you wear heavier armor. With ultra-heavy gear you are almost as fast with 0 ATH than, say, 3 ATH. You should STF-test a char with the armor set you wish and compare with lighter-heavier sets (with same ATH or different values) and find the one with the footwork of your choice.

Many people say above 5 shield skill is a waste of points, but I really like it. I suggest it because you have 21 agility already. You raise your shield faster, allowing you to use extremely heavy shields with insane speed. You can also use tiny shields like the buckler and they will catch projectiles way outside of their model. The raise/recovery speed you gain from high shield skill and the fact that your shield becomes nearly invincible is worth putting a couple more points into shield, IMO.
