I'm guessing many people already had this idea, but is it not possible just to create higher upkeep on certain items (specifically plate)? I mean percentages go up as armour cost goes up, but why not just make the percentages different at a certain level of items, such as when you start to move into mail, then plate?

Great idea, this is a good way to kind of section off equipment into their own categories instead of just having across the board upkeep.

I didn't get to quite explain myself more since I wrote this in a hurry, but I believe that creating higher upkeep on certain items would limit the amount of times a person would be able to use heavy armour. A higher upkeep (15%-20%) on plate and lower upkeep for lighter armour wouldn't really cause the problem of having naked people running around, but allow heavy armour to be used occasionally.
I feel this would solve a good number of problems with the balance of plate...?
-
Thats stupid, you already pay 2k for the plate mittens thats enough, leave the plater alone and let them play with their gear
-
Yeah I don't agree with higher percentage for higher gear.
You already pay exponentially more upkeep with higher gear simply because it costs so much more already. I would be severely disappointed if Plate and other high tier weapons disappeared from the game (This coming from somebody who doesn't own plate or any of that stuff). I just don't want to see EVERYONE in high tier weapons and armor, and I think the patch has solved that. If you build a good cushion by playing medium tier for a while, you should be able to use your cash to play in the highest of gear for a bit.

stokes, the case is that u cant do that even with medium gear. Luck have to much to do with money now. I moved to medium gear and lost 6k gold.
