I'm an hoplite only lvl 22 atm but this is the build I was thinking of is about wearing spear + shield and shield + 1h so I want to be a versatile hoplite:
Lvl 30
Strength: 18
Agility: 21
Athletics: 7
Weapon Master: 7
Power Strike: 6
Shield: 3
One Handed: 144
Polearm: 100
I know the shield is quite low but I already got shield 3 and my shield RARELY RARELY breaks so I see no point in getting higher shield.
What you think, what should I change or add and so on? I want this build to go grab kills and stay alive for long so I try to reach the top of the charts

i have a 24/15 build. quite awesome. all wpf in polearms.
btw, i would certainly max your shieldskill out. its vital for your speed and it will surely break when you encounter a axeman

higher shield skill means It will also work as if it decreases the shield weight?

Meh, I don't see any difference between 7 shield skil/elite cav shield and 5 shield skill/heavy round shield. Maybe I'm blind, dunno. But Teeth doesn't have only 3 shield skill?

nope he has 4

nope he has 4
4 is the perfect number IMO. More scavenging opportunities if your shield does break, opens up a world of different shields, more likely to have one to use in a strategus battle.
Also, if you're looking to be more survivable, especially if you're wearing lighter armor to utilize your 7 ath, I'd recommend getting some Ironflesh. The build I'd go for as 18/21 1h+spear/shield mix would be:
57 HP
2 Ironflesh
6 Powerstrike
4 Shield
7 Athletics
4 WM
116/91 split for proficiency.
Though honestly, I'd venture that for Level 30, 18/18 is a much better build. You could trade 1 Athletics for: Full WM, 1-2 more shield, 3-4 more IF.

idk athletics helps alot positioning and moving faster since I have shield I'm super slow and it also increases the damage of spear (when moving at higher speed = more dmg) I might get like 130 1h and 100 polearms and get the extra point from WM to Ironflesh

24str/15agi
8ps
5ath
5shield
5wm
~108 1hand
~118 polearm
Use a high dmg spear (ashwood, double sided, battle fork).
-
i would go for 18/18
6 ps
6 shield
6 wm
6 ath
5 if
150 polearm at least and rest on onehander
-
I got 3 and even with an unloomed Round Shield I am quite satisfied with the strength of it. It does occasionally break though, but that prevents my blocking from getting too rusty :P
I think you have an excellent build there, but you might consider going a little less 1h wpf and a little more polearm. As far as I know pole wpf also reduces stun time from stabbing blocks, which is helpful. It's not going to matter much of course either way.
-
Just finished up a gen of 21-18 full polearm hoplite, that 1 extra PS means a world of difference but 7 ath is probably almost equally as good and the extra wpf helps with hybridizing, good build OP.
-
Well,
If you have a +3 shield, you can go for a build with just 9 or 12 agility. With 12 Agility, so 4 shield skill, yiu can use the "Heavy Board Shield". It's one of the best Hoplite-Shields in my opinion. So back to build xD, go for 24:15 or the build, wjere you Put ALL lf your points into Strength, just 9 or 12 agility.
Use an Ashwood pike or a War Spear, both quite good weapons. But with many STR you can easily kill EVERYONE with less hits. Also I would recommend using a Short Sword, because of the 0 slot system of them.
Greetz!

just been trying out this build recently, only on the first gen as hoplite though but it's been going well.
21/18
2 WM
6 Ath
4 IF
4 Shield
7 PS
deals good damage, especially with a loomed spear and the shield shouldn't need to be used that much in a supporting role
EDIT: and all Weapon Points go in pole, so it is a pure holpite build.

6 ps
6 shield
6 wm
6 ath
5 if
150 polearm at least and rest on onehander
Might go with this actually but the problem is that if I put 150 in polearm I'll only have like 90 in 1h and I need the extra attack speed from wpf in 1h to help me because my 1 on 1 with 1h is kinda bad and that extra speed means the world

90 wpf is enough for onehand. you also have a shield you can block with a long time (hopefully you dont have axe enemies) and maybe choose a faster 1h weapon and you will see it works quite nice :)

Problem is that I must use a axe or hammer and I use military hammer because its better to shatter armor and there are no better hammer or axe than that 1
-
which 1 handed sword is best to use as hoplite then or any 1 h weapon.
pls pm thanks :)
-
achilles stick to something fast chances are you are against a fast opponent if you decide to put your spear away.
I would consider the scimitar as it is cheap long and has good damage.

yeah indof what I was thinking thanks mate :)
