Title: New way to get massive battles again?

So the population on the cRPG servers are not what they used to be, but still a steady 90+- in the "perfect" hours of the day. So my suggestion is to have perhaps a once every week or monthly. One day is put to have a 1-2 hour period of double XP and Gold. I believe if we had this one core day we could get some players to pop into the server and have back the good 'ol 200 + player battles :P

A short event for double exp surely couldn't hurt anyone  :wink:

Great idea, -

Also possibly fully  staged exp gaining themed battles, e.g.

Preists v Vikings,
Mongols v Hungarian
Samurai v Knights

etc etc

Actually I was working on such a project (themed battles). Be prepared for a series of events about the [siege of malta by ottoman army]. I planned it to be like a strategus fight, but that requires developer cooperation a tiny bit. It's just I need battalgazi to gather up enough historical information for me to sketch the maps.

Probably just me, but I much prefer 20-60 people to 60+.

Double multi is not really the case. People will just milk the double exp to the max and feel that they grinded enough for next few days so actually you would see less players on EU1 during next few days and even if you put 2 x multi for just like 2 hours, then it wouldn't really make any difference for most of the players as it's 2 short period for most to be noticed and I don't think it would make server more populated.

Even if it brought more players for some time, they would probably play less later, after double exp is gone. Grinding is important for many players (that's why your idea was supposed to make more people play at the same time)

Instead of trying to gain players by giving them better grind ability, we should focus on making game more pleasant. For example lowered fog chance would be great not only for the melee fighters but also for ranged who bleed their eyes out while trying to see where their projectiles hit. I seriously have seen more fogs in this game than in whole my real life ...

If we really want the more multi thing, I suggest the multiplicator could be based on how many people are playing at the same time which means that if there was +90ppl on EU1 you would get x1,2 multi and the number going through 130 with x1,5 up to 160+ with x2.

The values that I've just mentioned were just quickly estimated and weren't thought thoroughly but basically an idea is to reward big amount of players with multi, not starting multi for players to come. Actually as amount of players on EU1 is on the crpg website, I strongly believe it wouldn't be hard to code it. To be honest this could also apply to other servers with big playercap.

Sounds really good. Not good because of lower exp than just having a double xp hours but I think more beneficial for the crpg.  :)

I see what might be a slight problem with this... 1-2 hours would only cover one side of the globe and obviously you are European, us people that live in America and Canada would like some of this XP too and definitely not to be at 3 AM for EU to have "prime time". It would help if you took consideration of us over here.

Another problem is if you start doing this on a regular basis people will feel normal xp gain is slow (because it is), but after enjoying double xp for awhile, that xp you already think is slow, seems even more tedious. People might even go as far as only playing on days were double xp went into effect. In the long run that would hurt server population, In my opinion of course.
