Title: The Free Lands of the Tundra II: Let Freedom Ring!
Post by: Kelugarn on March 20, 2013, 08:12:02 pm
Let it be known that The Free Lands of the Tundra still stand united!

Since Elindor has stepped down as head diplomat I have decided to take up his mantle.

FREE LANDS OF THE TUNDRA

The Free Lands of the Tundra is a community of like-minded clans seeking to create an area of Calradia wherein small clans and individuals whom join the Free Lands community can trade freely and grow in an area not dominated by the shadow of large clans and conglomerates.

The Free Lands members will coordinate to collectively defend the area from aggressive attack and/or expansion into the area and endeavor to sustain the safety of this free trade area in the Tundra for its member clans and traders.

Land owners of the Tundra
Add your holding to the Free Lands mission and help us build and protect this beacon of light within a dark world!

Small clans and individuals without holdings
Join the Free Lands community and enjoy the free trade while adding your forces to the defense of this pristine land!

Quote
WHO IS IN FREE LANDS :

- FREE LANDS MEMBERS: Clans with holdings within the Tundra area are eligible to join the Free Lands group as Free Land Members and vote on the decisions of that community.  Clans may have holdings outside the Tundra, but only holdings within the Tundra will be part of the group's protection.

- FREE LANDS TRADERS: Small clans (20 or less in Strat faction) without holdings and individuals without holdings can join the Free Lands group as Free Land Traders and trade freely between the holdings of all Free Lands Members in the Tundra.  Free Lands Traders are asked to aid in defense of the Free Lands and donate fractions of their profits from trading within the area to the Free Lands holdings.

- PROTECTED TRADERS: Any trader within the borders of the Free Lands is under the protection of the Free Lands Members. As long as a trader is not listed as hostile to the Free Lands or belongs to a faction that is hostile to the Free Lands they will be afforded protection.

Free Lands Traders that are active within the Free Lands community for some time, help with resources for defense, and help to defend the Free Lands mission can become voting Free Lands Members even without having holdings in the Tundra.

Quote
DEFENSE OF THE COMMUNITY :

The Free Lands Members will assess apparent threats to holdings, free trade, and peace of the Tundra area and collaborate in a defensive nature to preserve the safety of the Tundra.

- The Free Lands mission is purely devoted to the creation, maintenance, and defense of a secure community WITHIN THE TUNDRA.  The group has NO EXTERNAL GOALS.  Free Lands members are not pledged to assist other members or holdings offensively or defensively outside of the Tundra

- All Free Lands holdings, members, and traders WITHIN THE TUNDRA AREA will be defended in the case of unprovoked (aggressive/expansionary) attacks.  If the Free Lands Member or Trader has started the conflict or has broken an exterior trade policy, the group will vote on whether to become involved defensively or not.

Quote
TRADE IN THE FREE LANDS :

- Each Free Lands holding will be OPEN TRADE to all other Free Lands Members and Free Lands Traders.  However, trade policies to the general community are up to the individual clans and are listed in the Strat 4 Border Policies Thread (http://forum.meleegaming.com/diplomacy/strat-4-na-border-policy-list/msg633571/#msg633571)

- Free Lands Traders are asked to donate portions of their profits from their trading within Free Lands holdings to those holdings to help the Free Lands Member clans sustain their defenses in the area.  Free Lands Traders are also asked to assist the Free Lands Members in defense of the area if the group decides to initiate a group defense.

- It is asked that Free Lands Members and Traders respect the S&D of the holdings by adhering to the following if they do not own the holding:
     - Do not take more than 400-500 S&D in any one visit
     - Do not take more than 50% of the S&D that is there
     - Do not leave a holding with less than 100-200 S&D

(If a member or trader wishes to take more than what is listed here, they must get permission from the owner)

where is dracul army ?

SURPRISE, IT'S INSIDE ASUGAN CASTLE!

But really, we're in an interesting predicament. We're smaller than the combined forces of those in direct conflict with us, so going on the offensive is a rare luxury. We are a bit forced to sit on our hands and react to our enemies. Simply because Dracul has not thrown their armies with bravado against Zagush or Tash Kulun does not mean that they are idle, hiding, or unreliable.

When you are fighting foes that have more combined active members (OH GOD HERE COMES THE "WELL MY FACTION IS MORE THAN HALF AFK"), you must either fight better, make smarter strategic decisions, or lose. Fighting better isn't reliable. We do very well in some battles and poorly in others. We can, however; make smarter strategic decisions than our enemy. Part of that is refusing to use your resources until they will be most effective.

What Sanderson said is correct. Also their army is our army, Fimbulvetr stands united. They have been moving around independently and with our combined operations when needed.

This!  yeah, I mean occitan + chevaliers (who have been recruiting like crazy anyone with a pulse - congrats on that) have over 100 members now and can afford to send a 1600 man shiny army up to help attack fimbrulvetyr as well since the 4 other factions already attacking them needed help, despite having lost 43,000 troops since the start of this war and being in multiple fights with ve the biggest na faction.

I'm pretty sure it's more like Florida retirement homes in Alaska.

And don't go and pollute this thread with unrelated drama. Please restrict all drama to factions on the snowy plains of the north.

LCO is about the same size as FFC now, and Chevalier went from about 6 members to maybe 10-12 in two weeks so its not like they are recruiting that much.

Please dont repeat yourself with the fact that you have inactive members, we all have a bunch.

One last neckbeard post, Arys/Froyo.

Go get FCC yourself! Surely you can't consider yourself on equal footing with the viking-pseudodutch-wallachian alliance?

Seriously, those 5k+ garrisons? Who's fool enough to go after those cities with fuck shit stacks of plate in them? Go get FCC! Quench your lust for Kesh's blood! Put yourselves at risk! Surely you haven't bit off more than you can chew with a faction that possesses less than you? Especially when that faction is at war with others? You've only got us...and FCC!

GO GIT EM DAMNIT

They are wolves in sheep's clothing. They may appear to be senile old peasants content with living the remainder of their lives in the north, but in their treachery, they wait...and watch, for their moment to strike will be when FCC or Hospitaller or Hero Party is at their weakest. Their shady dealings with EU coupled with them amassing troops right under your noses should be proof enough.

What is the most dangerous kind of peasant? An idle one.

Two states that have no state taxes? Coincidence? I think not.

But seriously, smooth does have a point. None of the factions are heavily pot committed in the war that the rest of the map is. That shouldn't be taken as a negative though.

I don't get how people can still wonder what our goal is. I mean it's only in our clan name.

Let's just say this strat would have been rather different for us if there was actually a Fisdnar still in NA.

Just a reminder, FPF fiefs are only open to FLotT traders or those who ask.

I'm going to make this brief: anyone who is currently inside New Shulus/Nova Uslum will be ejected. Free Peasant fiefs are no longer open to unregulated free trade. Both Nova Uslum and New Shulus are on lockdown; this means you cannot sell/buy unless you have received clearance from any two elder peasants (Knute, Arys, and myself). You may still enter our fiefs to conduct exchanges in a safe haven, and our borders are still open for those seeking refuge.

Quote
Anyone who continues to violate FPF trade policy, or FLotT members who violate FLotT trade policy will be ejected from Shulus/Uslum on their first offense. Those who violate lockdown periods or break FLotT trade policy a second time during the same lockdown as their first offense will be ejected a second time and told to vacate FPF lands within 24 hours. Those who violate a third consecutive time or fail to vacate will be attacked. No exceptions.
As stated above this applies to everyone, no exceptions, and all previous trade agreements can be renegotiated on a case by case basis.

Jesus, you continue to fail to understand the concept of FLotT. Tismirr was under Remnant control, there is no "Free Trader" Illuminati-esque shadow government. The "Free Trader" group is regulated by the FLotT council, and thus by Remnant, the opposite of what you continue to imply.
