Title: Add crouching!

I know it has been suggested countless times before but it needs to be added. I recently played xbowman  and imagined myself beeing able to crouch in battle, or take cover from range, it would be awsome if it was reality!
There are already couple of other mods with feature crouching, such as persistent world (i think their code for the crouching is OSP but it still needs confirmation, anyway heres the link: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,184.0.html)

In PW you are also able to crouch with your pike and stop horse automatically without attacking, ill try finding a video of it or make one myself. Would be awsome if it was added to!

Anyway theres are my suggestions, gimme looms and dont hate!

Im not sure but I think crouching is just something that needs toggled.
I think I saw it somewhere before in some file.
player_cancrouch 0 or something...
Maybe 1 will make it crouchable.

Dueling will be taken to a whole new level if they do add crouch, think of dodging swings by crouch

Will make 2h cav rage if they can't hit crouched opponents, lol...  Hopefully that's the case.

Seeing as 1h cav can hit bumped players I think it'll be possible, allthough it would take a little more effort.

This is an often-used tactic on PW when taking cover from archers. You can't move while crouched in PW but I think there's no point in that when it comes to Warband, imo.

Is it similar to the toggle crouch the Napoleonic Wars has and the original mod before that? You could toggle crouch but could not move with it on.

Crouching is awfully slow so i don't think it will be, ofcourse they can change the speed so what do i know ^^

Please add it, i don't get it why tydeus is saying it is hard to implement it and like tons of other mods have it.  :rolleyes:

WSE2 uses Warband 1.143 and that won't change afaik. In 1.153 crouching support was added by TW, which is why most mods have it. We would have to code it ourselves since we are based on 1.143 and I see several problems with that.

bump indeed, i really dont understand why the devs had to spend so much time on making a whole new nudge or whatever BS system that ended up beeing utterly useless instead of doing a crouch animation which would have been really usefull to everyone.

Nice job matt! If you could make your own thread it would hopefully get noticed better. But even though the devs are handed something good for the game on a silver platter they will most likely ignore it and put a dodge system in instead. Just goes to show what hard work gets you for this mod. Flaming katanas for all!

I just wanted to point out that i disliked nudge and think it was a total waste of time. But i guess this is a free mod made by people in their free time so i shoulnt really blame them.

Seems like the Crouch will never see the light of day in crpg, a shame really.
