How come you don't get ticks for doing strat battles and sieges?

Surely if there was one place to earn start ticks it would be mercing for strat fights

Unless you get added to every single battle/siege you're not going to make enough ticks playing just strat battle/sieges

So?  I know I can't stand how shitty cRPG is, Battle and Siege at least, I only like strat battles.  I have more ticks from playing DTV while eating breakfast once a week then I've ever gotten from battle in the past year.  Strat is good and not having ticks for it is just an oversight.
