Other changes:

The side sword is now brutal (29c/29p/101 speed). If/once the turn rate patch is added to NA, I'll probably give it a shot.

Was the broad short sword 30c/28p before? For that matter, was the short arming sword 29/29? I suspect they were buffed as well.

The poleaxe lost 1 cut, and I think the glaive lost 1 speed (it was 90 speed before, correct?).

All the two-handers I actually care about are the same, not sure about the rest of them.

Pretty much, that and lots of those buffed 1h were also made 0 slots. Check the main patch thread, there's an actual change log.

They nerfed rondel, however most of NA_2 is currently greatly enjoying the new leather scale armor

They nerfed rondel,

Much like bodkins, it's still OP because pierce. Although the spiked club got a buff and can compete with the rondel now (but it isn't 0 slot).

This is ridiculous. I am not even an archer and I find this too overcompensating. Bodkin arrows officially weigh 1.25x more than a great maul. Where is the logic in that? Maybe you can make quivers have a secondary mode where you can beat people down with them for 54 blunt damage with knockdown and crushthrough too .

The real nerf is to barbed and tatar arrows as a foot archer. Is +3 cut (assuming loomed arrows) worth the extra gold?

As a horse archer, I can still carry all the arrows I want with impunity.

Yup pretty sure that's the point. Archers start learning to block. Lots of nice shiny 0 slot 1h weapons to use.

Crying about 2+ weight, at least they didn't alter some of the other arrows stats giving them pierce, more arrows, and more damage.
Buff the Espada and the long Espada after that

This.

Now excuse me while me and my Unicorn buddy dance and prance away without worry! <3

Edit:
Spathion is zero slots btw for those who don't know.
weapon length: 102
weight: 1.3
difficulty: 13
speed rating: 97
thrust damage: 24 pierce
swing damage: 31 cut
slots: 0

Every archer should seriously consider this weapon and just beat the shit out of anything with a pulse. Granted, this cost plus your normal archer gear will bankrupt you, but it would be super lulzy.

I wear 34 MW bodkinarrows (mostly wood and few gramms metal) + my MW Hornbow. And a shielder can now laugh and take a 0 Slot Weap + 2 Steelshields (massive Iron)? I would like to see one guy infront of me who can still handle to fight with this masses of metal on his back and shieldarm ..... and I better dont think about what happens, when he also wears a full plate and stuff like this.

.... just my opinion....

Standarizing the weight of all arrows was a good call- I feel like that should really be said, as before the obvious choice was Bodkins which were better for damage in most cases and lighter to boot; but the weight assigned to all arrows is still too high.

Now all you archers will have to think and asses the situation, I knowthis will be hard but keep faith!, when you are in battle, no more last minutes escapes, oh god, dis will be gud.

Do a lap.

Pick it back up.

That´s what all decent archers have done for ages.

To the archer build I used to roll, latest patch would be a buff.

Last time i checked the definition of archery it never said anything about close combat with any side arm. Lets try another interesting logic. A Person is a truck driver and has a driving license to drive it. He also only wishes to drive a truck and nothing else. Now that driving license allows him to fly a plane or sail a boat. WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH DRIVING A BLOODY TRUCK???

So stop saying this is a bloody archer buff. Its a buff HYBRIDS not for archers. This patch is yet another nerf to archery.

An if units of weight in this game is kg (kilograms), and it seems they are according to other items, how can 17 arrows weigh bloody 10kg? A single arrows doesnt weight more than 75 grams (and that is too much) so one quiver is ~1.3kg of arrows and add maybe 0.5kg for the quiver and belt and feathers and other things that go with it. So Lets round it up to 4kg for 2 quivers (and that is way too much...). Nope.. lets make it 20.

So let me get this straight:

You want to be pure archer because you want to run away from melee while they can't catch you but you can deal damage at safe distance?

Fuck no. "Archery" for me (and in history) has always been combination of reduced melee capabilities and added ranged possibility.

Let me get this straight:

I want to be pure archer and to have infantry close to me for protection. I have 3 ath at lvl 30 with my build and i do not intend to increase it. I thought of going 0 ath this gen (same build just 3 if instead of ath), but no i cannot do that now cus ill be slower than internet explorer. So basically i want to play this game as maybe it should be played - to relay on the team im playing for.

Im sorry to write a post after the post but if i edit previous maybe it will be bad for the conversation.

If u go with that logic then why do i see pure two handers, pure pole arms, pure one handers (with shield ofc). How can a guy who know so much about one style suck that much at others? I dont know ur history sources (i dont know if ur statement is correct or wrong about archer combat capabilities) but for this purpose i will assume that its correct. Did ppl "at that time" only train to use one single melee weapon style and totally suck at others?

I am no expert so I will just apply logic:

Humans are naturally more accustomed to using extension of their limb aka melee weapon, than a "wiggly" bow and arrow.

Besides the "psychological" aspect, efficient archery requires one to start as a child, so that the bones, muscles and tendons formulate as young archer grows up, somewhat similar to a tennis player. If an archer was to start practicing in their adulthood, they would be lacking the anatomical part of the equation.

I wouldnt agree on the 1st part u wrote. I assume that human is more accustomed to whatever item (not limited to weapons) they more familiar with. Since it is your thought i can only disagree with you and if u want i could state why i dont agree in more detail.

For the 2nd part i state that you are completely wrong by agreeing with common misconception. I had same opinion about physical training before i started practicing martial arts (i was 20). I wanted to start trainings so i dont become a bloody stereotype gamer :). My master (whatever the name of the guy that teaches u martial arts is) told me that the starting age doesnt have much impact. Ofc i didnt believe him and i thought he was saying that just to take my money. I asked on what basis he claims that and he gave me the names of some doctors and martial arts masters and i checked online and asked real doctors and compared my physiology knowledge (im about to get masters in physiology so i think i know a thing or 2) and seems he was right. Human body needs approx 6 months to 2 years to adjust the "architecture" to become viable for certain activity if the individual is healthy and with no physical impairments. Sadly i had one impairment which made me stop progressing at which point i needed maybe 10% more to reach the 100% of what is needed (so i was at ~90% of total body stretching and other stuff needed for that kind of martial art). Only thing that training at early age gives u is lets say better security at the discipline. You can reach a lot in 5 years of training, and at 10 years u will be amazing.

Now back to the game. You start at age 16 (lvl 1) and lvl 30 is rly old if u remember the texts in the game. So i assume that pure archer at lvl 30+ can rly be considered trained since he was a kid (or at least teenager ;) ).
