Title: Lancer cav vs. Lancer cav w/ shield
Post by: BadooN on February 28, 2013, 06:56:45 am
I was wondering if it made any difference between lancing without a shield and with one.  I understand that it does with shielding, 1h's being faster without a shield equipped.
So far I'm assuming it applies to lancing as well, however am still curious as to find out for sure.  Any help on the topic would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

if you believe the min/maxer toolkit and to my experience,  there is no added shieldpenalty on top of the mounted penalty you recieve.

Shield doesn't make any difference for lancing.
The only difference is the types of weapons you usually use.

1) Lance + 2slot polearm.
2) Lance + Shield + 1slot polearm.
3) Lance + Shield + 1h.

In 3rd option you'd have to split your wpf between polearms and 1h.

there is no added shieldpenalty on top of the mounted penalty you recieve.
Because it's the same penalty: holding polearm with 1h instead of both hands, imo
