Title: Retirement gone wrong!
Post by: PauliniusX on February 28, 2013, 02:12:13 am
So, I reached level 31 and 'retired'. One of the options given was to change your name, (which I did, from PauliniusX to Paulinius_II). I retired with about 30k in gold, a sword, bow, arrows, armour mittens and leggings. When I go to CRPG to play, I am still called PauliniusX but I am dressed like a peasant and none of my gold or equipment! Soooo I created a new character called Paulinius_II and when I spawn, I have my gold & mittens and arrows but nothing else! HEEEELLLPPP

What you're most likely experiencing is that you're now level 1. That means that you only have 3 strength. The rest of your gear probably requires more than that.

Do you still see the equipment on the website?

You might want to create a character named Paulinius_II and join a server with this one
His post wasn't THAT long.

Yes all my gear shows up on CRPG-NET. It also shows up on the 'in-game' inventory but certain items have red text underneath saying "you cannot use this item"

So I 'loom' my sword but I cant use it until I build up my strength all over again? Doesnt seem to be much point in retiring?

did you read the page? retiring lets you loom (increase the stats of) an item, and gives you iirc 3% more xp per tick, but resets you to level 1.

quality thread, hereby i order this thread to be bumped on a monthly base.

ill explain again so i can help the OP:

1)you were lvl 31 and your nickname was PauliniusX
2)you retired
3)now you are lvl 1 and your nickname is Paulinius_II, you also got a loompoint and now you get 1030 xp every tick instead of 1000
4)you joined the server with a character called PauliniusX, the game doesnt recognize this name (because your name is Paulinius_II now), so the game thinks its a new character. that is why you dont have any equipement.

solution: create a new character called Paulinius_II, if you join the server now you will have all  your equipment on that character and you will be lvl 1 again. with a free loompoint and 1030 xp every single tick.

So I 'loom' my sword but I cant use it until I build up my strength all over again? Doesnt seem to be much point in retiring?
and yes ofcourse you cant use your sword yet, you are lvl 1 again (wich is the point about retiring) people retire because they get these awesome things called loompoints. There wouldnt be a point in getting a loompoint while staying the same lvl, isnt it? you must give something for what you get.

Guys, he has done that. He knows that. He just complains about being level 1 again.

Well OP, tough luck really  It is part of the deal. Looms are pretty worth it. You can choose not to retire, you know. There are some people level 36 out there. Just don't start complaining about shiny looms latter down the line.

It's ok though. I've done worse. I respecced at 31 instead of retiring.

Thanks for the (few) polite and helpful replies. You live and learn and I totally realise what happened now. As for the pedantic, sniffy sarcastic comments, get a life! You were noobs once, show some human tolerance cant you? Sheesh. Some of us dont live in our bedrooms, eating pizza and naming our acne pimples!
