Is there a reason why I am being attacked in Hospitaller lands after I was cleared to come through and buy goods?

Here is their post from page three last I checked on the diplomacy thread, they closed the steppe.

Yeah, I went to peppo and asked if I could buy some goods up from one of their feifs. Peppo wanted to let his members know that I was coming to do that, so I would not be attacked. After I was cleared to enter, I'm attacked by LL in the center of Hospitaller lands. Now I'm questioning if I was setup or why Hospitaller is allowing LL to enter their lands and pick fights. Also thank you Killerofflowers for a heads up that you are now hostile with Teutonic.

i saw an unarmed trader so why wouldn't i decide to attack?

Well sir, if you can see I just find it weird that you are in hospitaller lands when they have CLOSED borders and the fact that they are allowing battles in their lands. Also I'll keep that in mind when I come back and maybe eventually return the favor.

Where were you attacked exactly? And what fief were you cleared to trade in?

I was attacked right outside of Ichamur, I was buying from Tulbuk and going to head south. Instead I decided to turn around and head back to my lands.

Well other factions should not be attacking you nowhere near their fiefs...if you were near Ichamur LL had no business attacking you.  They have a fief inside the steppe, but unless someone is a known enemy or taking their S&D, they shouldn't be attacking anyone in the steppe (nor should any other factions be policing the steppe)

I'll try to get a hold of Peppo or Aztek and see if they can straighten this out with LL (probably have them retreat once the battle starts, and then have you transfer the equipment back)

Granted I have no knowledge of the situation, just going by what Holiday posted.

What I said was speculation, Peppo or Aztek will have to sort it out.

Don't worry Holiday, I was attacked in their lands aswell by Lib. It's pretty clear no one likes White people...

LL used to own land in the steppe and they were finishing up some trades. Holiday did have free passage for a time and shouldn't have been attacked.  Unfortunately LL and Hosp aren't in contact too often and I assume they just thought it was someone in closed borders.

I just got home from work but let me assure you this was not a set up, As peppo already mentioned LL and Hospitaller have not had a chance to talk too much in the last few days, One of us should have went to LL to give them a heads up, was our mistake and I'm sorry about that, obviously LL should not retreat as that would be 1000 troops lost which is out of the question, getting the goods back to you shouldn't be a problem (Even if we have to give it out of our stockpile). It sucks that you will get warped to EU but in all honesty that would be the less of two crappy scenarios. I for one am all about fixing these small mistakes so if you would contact me I'm sure we could work something out for your troubles.

If there was no agreement made with Peppo then it would have been LL's call (Though a heads up will always be appreciated) especially if they are helping protect the steppe from outside traders while we are closed to none friendly factions (those who merc against us) but as this was something we knew about and didn't pass on (obviously) to our friends I have no problems helping out.. Tho next time maybe get a hold of me as well just to be redundant.

I would not blame LL either, I'm not sure of your relationship but they know the steppe is closed as well and most likely figured it would be sanctioned as a possible threat.

ok... Too many coffee's on the way home, I keep repeating myself.. lol, Contact me Via Steam or TS and we can work this out  :P

Yeah, retreating is not a good idea. I'll leave it to you and LL to figure out how I get my goods back.
